Well I just got a beagle puppy, and for the first day im really exhausted(or it could be just from school) but, anyways im enjoying her and at the same time I feel like i shouldn't own her. Did anyone else have this feeling when the first got they're dog?

Sorry if I don't make any sense.

I feel the same with anything new.

I do not own a dog, but I guess the feeling is mutual?

I've never had that feeling. I am a dog person, so that might have something to do with it..

Beagles can be tough. I have a mix and hes three and the first week was brutal. They,re very needy and get scared at night as puppies. So, If you can just sit with them at night like i had to do haha. They fall asleep in your lap. They;ll love you forever for that. I was told that keeping the puppy in a spacious pen or a comfy cardboard box(open and cut so it isnt enclosed of course) near your bed so you can slip your hand in is a good idea. Just spend lots of time with her and youll feel different.

You're probably just worn out. A puppy is a lot of work, so the first couple weeks might be a little rough. Once you've house trained it and taught it some discipline though things should be more fun and easier for you.

I love dogs, so I have more patience with them. Beagles are adorable by the way.

Get rid of it now

The sole notion that you're having "mixed feelings" now means that you did not fully research it and you're done both yourself and the animal a disservice.

Get rid of it now while it's still a puppy and when you do the correct prep in the future maybe then you'll find a situation that works

I'm more of a cat person since they're more solitary...

But yeah I guess it is up to you.

I own a 7 year old female Beagle, and she really wears me out. Tons of walking, chasing rabbits, etc. You'll get used to it. :)

i'm a dog lover so I'm not exactly sure why you're feeling that way :?

send it back if you're feeling that way, if you're sad it'll probably rub off on your dog too

I loooove my dog! She's the best, and I'll fight whoever disagrees. :x

EDIT: forgot the actual topic. :P Anyway, I've only had 1 dog, but I remember it being a lot of fun getting a new dog.

How long have you had it for? If you've had it for any length of time you should know that the dog is probably going to be extremely upset for a few months after you give it away.

Anyways TC, I can't say that I've had that feeling before. But trust me, that dog will be your best friend soon enough.

Puppies are exhauting work. But a dog brings you more pleasure than any item and indeed most human beings.

Beagles are very loud dogs. You ought to train her as a pup not to bark at everything.
