just got a piercing today, and the guy gave me a sheet on how to clean and care for it, etc. on the sheet, it says no swimming for 4-6 weeks. but it's summer and i have a pool in my backyard, plus i was gonna try to swim with my friends today, so would it really be that bad for it? note: my pool is salt water, if we go to my friend's apartment pool, it is chlorine.

Well, you would be increasing the chance of developing an infection, which is rather less fun than swimming...

but wouldn't chlorine be okay for it? if i go with my friend to his apartment pool, i wouldn't be jumping in cause it's too shallow to do any tricks, so we'd just be standing in the water and stuff.

Chlorine as with most chemicals or treatments is certainly not 100% effective... Still, who knows. ^_^
