I had glasses for a little while several years ago. It was always like I was about to take a step downward, but never did. Walking was awkward for a while.

If you don't like how you look with glasses, you could try getting contacts.

I had the same experience when I first got glasses... as well as times I have gotten new ones. What I freaked out the most about was looking at the stars and the moon. I've never appreciated how beautiful the night sky as much as when I first saw it clearly. As far as how I look with my glasses, I'm fine with it. I sometimes where contacts, but I do not care enough to actually wear them most of the time.

It is a pretty fantastic change. I remember when I got mine I somehow had no idea that I needed them, although two of us in my grade four class always had to go to the front of the class to be able to read the board during tests, which was the first hint.

Not yet because I haven't needed glasses. I assume at some point I'll need them, then I'll know.

Yea, the weird thing about glasses is you never know you need them until you get them. I actually like the way I look in glasses. I did have an ugly pair once that I finally got rid of. Maybe shop around for some frames that fit to your style.

I have to agree with the stars and the moon thing. The first time I noticed that my vision was poor was when I was looking at Christmas lights. Any point of light looked very blurry to me. When I got glasses I had a pretty dramatic improvement in that regard.

I'm not certain how prescriptions vary in your country but I can say that I got my glasses at the age of 11 and by then I only had 15% of my sight.

When I first put my glasses on, the difference was amazing

Heh - I never realized how bad my vision was until I went to take my eye exam. My wife came with me this time and the examiner had me take my glasses off and look through the spectacles (whatever it's called). He asked me what I saw on the wall. I told him I can't see anything, just three blurry lines but I don't know what letters are up there. My wife immediately says "You can't see that!!?". I calmly said no. The examiner changed the viewer I was looking into and made every thing clearer. On the wall in front of me, I see the biggest letter "E" I have ever seen in my life. I had no idea my vision was that bad without glasses.

I have that experience regularly, I'm near sighted but I don't wear my glasses and can't be bothered putting contacts in every day (I do have a load of disposable ones) and every now and again I get a feeling that my eyes have gotten better, then I put my glasses on and it's like being punched in the face, it's weird how blurry and horrible everything can look yet since you're so used to it that it just feels normal.

You guys with good eyes should appreciate it, I didn't appreciate it when I had good eyes :(

Bad eyesight runs in the family for the men :(

It lookspretty annoying having to wear glasses everytime you're gonna read or always if you have to. 'Till now I didn't have to, but I'll probably in the future since my whole family do. :(

well now that the acne on your faceis clear and visible you will want to go ahead and take care of that. As to your question yes I have felt what its like to get my first glasses and it is truly a great moment to see the world clear again.

I've had glasses since Kindergarten and I'm entering my 5th year of college, so I honestly can't remember what it's like not having glasses. I'm too lazy to switch to contacts either lol.

I had glasses once... the change to contacts was even weirder. Because then you would see the "HD experience" WITHOUT something pressing on your ears and nose.

yeah ive had that problem. I have to say it may be the prescription thats making everything more clearer. i just ignore it. other people dont usually criticize my face so i dont worry about it. or just dont look at yourself in the mirror with your glasses on.

I read an article about improving your eye sight, but it seemed sketchy and it was basically saying choose a colour and focus on it all day, eg. red, when you see a red car, red door or w.e

my parents said they'll pay for laser surgery when I'm older, hopefully they do :P cause that **** is expensive.

just wait till you clean your glasses with the special cleaner for the first time, you'll be amazed all over again. the funny thing is i had fine eyesight as a kid, and would always look at the eye chart and wonder "what kind of person can't see that huge E?," well, today i am that kind of person lol.

its like HD and without your glasses its SD. Or when I was little, it was like looking at a dirty window vs a clean one.
