was feeling pissed off today so I got out my axe, turned the amp up and played the most soulful guitar solo you never heard. I had to smoke a cigarette after it was intense. Afterwards I was light as a feather. wasn't angry or pissed off anymore, just felt good. Any other musicians on here have a moment of 'well-being' right after you play your heart out?

Drums anyone?

If I get angry, playing the song "Mercyful Fate" by Metallica always makes me feel better. Maybe that's just because I'm hitting stuff though :P

I love guitar solos, i make edits in my mind on solos from songs that I hear. And the music in my mind is epic, but my dexterity is not. I'm not that great at guitar.

I feel like Joe from Zappa's Watermelon in Easter Hay (off Joe's Garage).

Same feeling over here man, but I'm a drummer, so I actually get to go crazy and hit stuff haha

But there's nothing like playing an amazing song perfectly to get your blood pumping

Hey I'm a drummer too :). I wouldn't say I go crazy and hit stuff though, when I solo I tend to lean toward more funky styles.

But yea, I feel awesome when I nail something. On the other hang I can get really tense and angry if I can't nail something.

Yeah I can relate. Kicking out the jams on my guitar really helps blow off steam.

Although I don't really play "traditional" rock or blues solos all that much. My style as a lead guitarist is a bit like Jonny Greenwood - unconventional, aggressive, liberal, and occasionally atonal.

nah im a perfectionist when it comes to guitar, so even when i play good its not good enough. if i make a little mistake i get madder then i was before i started playing. if anything i have to be in a good mood and relaxed to get the most out of playing.

So far i'm really happy if I can get one riff down without messing it up, but that doesn't happen very often. I usally play way to fast and have tons of errors or play way to slow
