I only watch movies as of the last year or so in 3D "Xplus" theaters. Which is basically a 3D theater with leather recliners an sick base an sound.

The reason why this has relevance is because if you don't go to see this movie in that type of setting I don't believe its worth it. (Fyi I went on "bargain tuesday" 10 bucks ;))

This film was clearly written by the lowest kind of neanderthal. With some awful dialogue, poorly created scenes and some of the most useless characters ever put in any type of hero movie.

*Spoiler?* I mean there was a guy (slipknot), who's intro description by the crew was, "he can climb anything". Wowwww so can monkeys an most humans.

Just silly shit...

Buttt!

BUTTT!!!

I still enjoyed it. The main women in this movie were just memorizing-ly beautiful. The editing was well done, and the directing wasn't half bad.

The acting was decent as well on certain peeps.

Nothing about this movie was exceptional though unfortunately. There was some really fun action scenes, some laughable jokes, and the costume design was AWESOMEEEE.

Overall. In a 3D Leather Chaired Theater this movie is a 6.5-7. Anything less. expect less.

I'd say go see it if you have that option available, if not, might be worth it to wait and watch on your HD or higher TV at home.

PS>I am not hard to please at all, I think of movies as entertainment and judge accordingly. So don't think I have some high an mighty critic attitude going in hahaha.

Anyways.

Thanks for reading!!!

Yes, I'm sure Guardians of the Galaxy is leagues better. Though I must admit that Margot Robbie chick caught my attention in the trailer. Who is she? Looks sexy to me.

Anyways, Doctor Strange is what I have circled for my next superhero movie. He was always one of my favorite Marvel heroes, and the original leader of the Defenders, which I understand Marvel will have a movie about.

Today I saw "Nerve" an unexpectedly decent little thriller primarily targeted for millenials, but I quite enjoyed it.

Back on topic, I'll probably pass on Suicide Squad.

@AFBrat77: the Defenders is actually gonna be a Netflix series with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist starring in it--and if there's any truth to the rumor, the Punisher will appear as well. It premieres next year.

As far as Suicide Squad, both Man of Steel and BvS killed any interest I had with DC movies for now, so I'll pass on this until it comes out on dvd.

I thought it was a mess. It is clear there was Ayer's cut, then WB's cut. His cut lost. Shot by shot, you can see which are Ayer's scenes, and which are forced reshoots. It was a disaster, and I did not get anything out of the characters, their arcs, the overall story too.

It seemed like the Fantastic 4 version. Studio execs need to hire directors, then let them create their vision. This meddling always makes movies trash.

@hillelslovak: hmmm thats an interesting point about the directing cuts. And there arcs were oddd. Idk honestly how this movie was pushed thru so confidently. Nd since it still broke the box of the office it doesnt matter hahaha. They win. We lose. Buttt its still nice they tried. Maybe with enough hate the reup will be betterr.

I hope there is an Ayer's cut. It does not bother me in the least if I dont like it. I cannot stand seeing art meddled with, homogenized, and sanitized by a bunch of business people checking quotas off. At least if I dont like a piece of art, I can usually tell the person put some real effort in, and it deserves respect (Anything from LACMA aside).

you sir just made my day. Those Marvel shows on Netflix are top-notch. That second season of Daredevil with The Punisher in it was simply amazing, and Jessica Jones was pretty good, too.

He says in interviews that the movie is his version and cut, there won't be a dircetors cut according to himself.

But watching the movie and seeing the "rumors" about reshots pretty much says otherwise.

He's playing his part. Directors are kept on a short leash, even in the things they say, unless they already have tons of clout, and big hits to their names. You can tell, scene by scene, shot by shot, that it is not the vision of one person, but a bunch of people checking boxes off.

@z00vara:

I missed that movie, was going through an anti-Dicaprio stage, and I've always thought that fat dude Jonah Hill is just lucky to be there and is overrated.

DiCaprio won me over, I should check out that movie.

They've been great so far, and the Punisher is getting his own series, too. But if Netflix is planning to stick to their current release schedule of two show per year (Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage for 2016, Iron Fist and The Defenders for 2017), the Punisher series probably won't be until 2018, at the earliest.

Only reason for Slipknot being in the movie was that they could show to the other "heroes" that they mean business. Everytime they use this hidden bomb inside body -trope, they have to kill someone with it at the start to show that it's not an empty threat. You could see that scene coming a mile away.

And the movie was a mess.
