No its not about the ending. There are arguements for both ways about the ending and Nolan left it open for vieweres to debate. My question is about Fischer. Wouldn't he notice that the people that were in his dreams, happen to be the exact same people in the airplane with him? Also how does Tom Hardy's character have the ability to project, im sure its explained early in the film but i missed it.

anyone who says its terrible is just trying to be different. You don't have to say its the greatest movie of all time, but to say its garbage is just absurd.

Would you remember all the strangers on the bus or the train with you today?

Eames could project, the same way Ariadne could construct I guess.

There are many things that didn't make sense. Like the totum thing. It spins forever in dreams? Why? Why couldn't the dream be such that it falls over?

no i wouldn't but if i was in a room with 6 other people (which he was), and spent hours worth of dreams with them, i would have at least remebered a face or two. he should definetly have recognized Di Caprio's face.

Do you remember the faces of people you meet in your dreams? Think about it, it's always centered on you and your feelings. At least in my dreams people are faceless, unless it's people I already know IRL, before the dream. In Fisher's dream all the characters are most likely faceless, except for his father and uncle.

Why would he notice that? He's dreaming; it wouldn't matter to him even if he did notice who they were.

Do you remember every detail of your dreams when you wake up? And is it weird to have people in your dreams that you've just seen?

It does seem weird to me that he doesn't recognize Saito, though, if he is really his fathers biggest competitor.

It doesn't necessarily spin forever, that can be faked somehow I believe. But the point is if it does spin forever then obviously it's a dream.

ehh good points, i guess i was just looking at it from a 3rd person perspective. I've never had a dream centered around complete strangers, so who knows what i would remeber. I definetly remember people i know IRL, but have never remembered strangers in dreams.

"Guys, here's the plan:

  • We're going to go in his head and it'll change him forever, first we'll need to go to level 1, where time will be halved, and you'll need to start working on your puzzles
  • Then we go down another level and the time dilatation goes up an order of magnitude and do stuff
  • Then we go down another level, where 1 second will equal like 651651 years"

OMG IT'S SO DEEP

The only thing amazing about the movie is DiCaprio's ability to get through that scene with a strait face.

It should have been a parody on serious movies with stupid plots, then it would have been enjoyable, rather than just embarrassing to watch.

I never understood why, if you were dreaming, you would even acknowledge such a minor thing. Oh my spinning top hasn't toppled... but oh, there are buildings growing out of the sea as well.

I watched it once, grasped the concept, but really didn't understand it. I wish Nolan had just concentrated on Rises instead. Granted, Inception ended up being a fundraiser for Rises.

Oh and too many movies that are "complicated" are really just obscure. Then you have people claiming to understand when really they just made a load of assumptions.

I think a better example is the chess piece. In someone else's dream they would've know how much it weighs and you could tell. Maybe if in someone else's dream you spin the top where they cant see it, it will keep spinning.

Inception is a deep film not just in terms of concept or plot but in terms of execution and flair. There is no shame in not understanding certain subtle themes,

And I always find it funny when people laugh at the film and say its stupid or it sucks because of it. Yet turn around and bash the tranformers.

You assume that the person who think it's garbage agrees with you that it is well made and well acted. I think it was pretty good, but I can understand why somebody might think it fails on enough levels to make it a bad movie.

Also, the acting wasn't bad by any stretch, but compared to other movies, it seemed pretty average.

dreaming about people who you just saw is pretty common, so its not suspicious if you see them in it.

Whether something is quality or not is an opinion. What you think is quality, another might not.

I dunno. The technical details were very frontloaded, so you got a lot of 'background' so to say in the first part of the movie, and then most of the plot/action in the second part. Generally I felt it worked pretty well.

Fair enough. I personally thought that the movie had way too much exposition and that hurt the overall structure, but I can actually see the argument you're making.

Would you remember all the strangers on the bus or the train with you today?

Eames could project, the same way Ariadne could construct I guess.

no i wouldn't but if i was in a room with 6 other people (which he was), and spent hours worth of dreams with them, i would have at least remebered a face or two. he should definetly have recognized Di Caprio's face.

You also have to take into account they were active in different levels of his mind at the same time. Each person stayed behind in order to set the bump. So they would be interacting with his mind and keeping it from making to connection to happenings elsewhere.

I suppose I do assume that people have the intelligence to know the difference between personal opinion and quality. And unfortunately it seems some do not.

Whether something is quality or not is an opinion. What you think is quality, another might not.

No quality is not subjective.

I agree that they were interesting. They kind of hurt the pacing tho.

I think I've always liked exposition a little more than most people. One example of this is this movie, which is literally 30 minutes of dialogue and a pretty much unchanging scene. I absolutely loved it but a lot of people didn't. :P

Yes it is. Only facts are truly objective. Judgments on quality are not. Why do you think there are so many conflicting critical opinions on whether Inception was a good movie or not?

If you disagree, show me where it's written that Inception is quality.
