I'm no expert and I could be wrong but I think the movie was based on an actual comic not sure how much of it though wrote so maybe no sequel.
Yes, the movie was based entirely off of a comic book series of the same name. Both the director of the film and the creator of the comics worked pretty closely to make them both very similar to one another. Interesting tidbit, Kick-Ass was originally pitched to Hollywood to be a movie (This was before the comics ever came to picture); but the creator, Mark Miller, kept getting turned down... Eventually he found a filmmaker, Matthew Vaughn, that was willing to make the film independently, which ultimately became the film that it is today. As the film was being made, Mark Miller went off to make the comics... So, in reality, both the movie and the comics were being made at the same time, and both people were working together to make them as similar as possible.
