So, I've been a regular smoker now for about 7 years- roughly pack a day. I always thought I could "quit whenever I want to," but let me tell you- it's NOT that simple. If I go for longer than 2 hours without a ciggarette, my hands get clammy, the back of my throat closes up, and I feel really nervous. To top it all off, the ONLY thing I can think about is having a smoke. I need to chew nicorette just to get through a plane ride, it's rediculous. Just a friendly reminder to the GS community.RiSkyBiZ-13

Because I was a moron 14 year old kid and thought it was cool, I also didn't understand addicition at all and firmly believed that I would "quit before I got addicted."
i've been smoking for over 12 years and i don't understand how people can get up to a pack or more a day. a pack will last me at least two days. plane rides are nothing to me. i can go quite a few hours without a cigarette. but quitting is a whole different story. when i really want to quit, i'll quit. i've done it before easily, i can do it again when i want to.dooly420
I suppose it affects some people differently than others. I highly doubt you can quit "easily" or you wouldn't still be smoking, it's unhealthy and extremely expensive.

I'll be starting a smoking cessation class soon, they perscribe all that stuff. It's just a shame I couldn't do it cold turkey, but oh well.

it's actually really easy to quit. the hard part is wanting to. the only way to ever quit smoking is when you really, truly want to. the only reason i started smoking again was because i got really drunk and forgot i had quit.[QUOTE="Rekunta"][QUOTE="RiSkyBiZ-13"][QUOTE="Rekunta"][QUOTE="RiSkyBiZ-13"]So, I've been a regular smoker now for about 7 years- roughly pack a day. Doing it at all and sticking with it will be awesome enough.....a lot of people can't. It's probably one of the best decisions you can make. Think of all the cash you'll be saving in addition to not having to worry about when you'll need one or be miserable if you don't. Good luck man.
