What are your thoughts on these movies?

I thought the story was told well, the acting was very good at times, the music throughout always suited the mood/scene, and I thought the camerawork was excellent aswell; especially in the fight scenes.

I hear a lot of people find this movie to be rubbish, compared to Tarantino's other "masterpieces": Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, although I found this movie to be more entertaining than Pulp Fiction (although I'm not saying it was a bad movie, it was actually a brilliant movie).

So what did you like, or not like, in these movies?

I liked them quite a bit. I prefer his early films, but I have fun with his latest work as well. I'm still hoping that Inglorious Bastards turns out to be more along the lines of his early work.

i liked the first one a lot. the 2nd...not so much. it was horribly paced. did we really need to spend 30 minutes of explanation as to why she can punch through a coffin after she took on 88 guys?

When it also describes how she is able to kill a guy by poking his chest, yes.

They were okay. But as with all of Quentin Tarantino's films they are massively overrated.

i love them, v1 was really unique, and v2 while a little less unique had a better story i thought (i know its one continuos movie but i thought v2 just ended it all really well)

I loved Vol. 1 :)

But i didn't like Vol. 2 as much, partly because the ending wasn't as amazing as i'd hoped it would be.

like everybody else... i f vol 1 was just better, it simply ozzed style and action where as vol 2, which was good, needed more epic battles and style.

Well, i really liked how the story was told, The fights were incredible. But, as everyone is saying, the 2nd Vol. wasn't the best. It didn't have the sense of "lack of knowledge of what the hell is going on" as the first.

Very good, nonetheless.

I love both volumes of Kill Bill. Volume 2 has a lot more story and emotion to it though. And because there are less fight scenes you really learn to appreciate them more.

that brings me to another point. the entire series was building towards this epic battle with bill and it was only a 2 second fight where she pokes his chest a few times. huge letdown.

i loved both of them, maybe v1 more than v2, but i thought both were brilliant. I try to think of them as one movie though, as that's how they were originally intended

Judging on camera work, story, acting and what not, vol. 2 was better.

I preferred Vol. 1 though.

that brings me to another point. the entire series was building towards this epic battle with bill and it was only a 2 second fight where she pokes his chest a few times. huge letdown.

I thought the battle was made epic because it was almost entirely psychological. Bill uses their daughter to disarm Uma. Like that part where he's cutting the crust off a PB&J sandwich for their daughter, it was the kind of cute little family moment that Uma's character was probably seeking when she originally left Bill. I even thought for a second maybe the title "Kill Bill" would end up an ironic one. But the film also doesn't let you forget in that moment that Bill is indeed holding a frickin knife. Very tense.

if tarantino wanted to make it tense, bill shouldve cut the sandwich with a hatori honzo sword. tarantino will always be his dialog's biggest fan. it isnt nearly as good as he thinks it is. then he tries to make it the strength of his movies when it is clearly his weakness.

I actually like Kill Bill a lot. The first volume was a great action film while the second volume did a fantastic job of finding closure and answering all the questions from the first volume. Overall, I think Kill Bill sits alongside Pulp Fiction and Reservior Dogs.

I personally love them both, Vol. 2 a bit more. I will actually put them both right below pulp fiction and ahead of jackie brown and resevoir dogs.
