Ok here is a dumb thing. When some kid decides on their own that they want to kill someone, the law enforcements always want to find a way to blame it on a video game. This latest case when a girl and her boyfriend was babysitting her half sister and the guy decides to beat her to death. They instantly blamed it on the game "Mortal Kombat". Why do everyone blames incidents like this on games? No one told him to kill no one. I just get mad when they always tried to blame it on a game. They said it's "The same moves seen in the video games." Come on now man. Some of those moves can't even be replicated due to it's super human nature. Have these Guys even played video games? This has nothing to do with any game or any movie. If anything, it was bad parenting from their parents not knowing what their kids are doing today. Do they even have the game around. It seems like everyone is trying everything to try and get rid of video games. Here is the link to the story. What you guys think?

Killings are not able to blame...they are an action. As for people...they always try to find the reason...this is not new and it used to be music that was blamed. Eventually something else will come along to be blamed. No use dwelling on it.

I agree, it's really stupid to blame video games. Even if the action was somewhat influenced by video games, there is something much much worse involved in that persons life that actually caused it; a video game alone can't cause something like that. I play Gears of War, Halo, Call of Duty, but I would never dream of going out and killing somebody. The only time I ever would is in self-defense, and that's only if I absolutely had to.

These things are pretty common, you can throw religion in there as well. Get used to it.

The problem with this course of action is that if unchallenged, the idiots pushing this garbage will get more idiots to believe them, and pretty soon there are too many of them to fight. Sure, it's annoying to keep having to say the same thing over and over again, but all evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

Did the teens even mention anything about Mortal Kombat?

The mention of the game prolly came from when the kids were being investigated. The detectives were probably asking them how and what they did to poor little Zoe, and as the kids were explaining themselves, I can totally picture the detectiveasking something like, "Kinda like the Mortal Kombat game?" and the kids responding"Yea, something like that...", and that's how the mentioning of the game probably came about.

You gotta blame something! The real problem is crappy (or none at all) parenting. But that's not politically correct to say, because fixing that problem would require people to take personal responsibility, and we can't have that. They can't blame movies, which are just as violent if not more so, because too many people LIKE violent movies. They can keep blaming music, but that well is about tapped out. Video games are still fairly new to a lot of people, especially older people. And since it's something a lot of people aren't into, it's something they're willing to sacrifice in order to have an excuse when things like this happen.

I feel the same way that you do. Only with self defense or helping a love one if threatend.

Video games are not to blame, it is their stupidity of even performing stunts seen on a video game that is to blame. :|

Cause... if you blame everything else no one has to be responsible. It's only a matter of time until potential becomes definate.

I'm not responsible for what other people do. I might cause a person to do something but I am not responsible for their decissions nor their actions, they are. The safety and vitality of others is their responsibility.

Why not just blame a spaghetti western everytime someone robs a bank?

That's just bad attitude. When you do something I don't care who you saw do it because you did it and you will not be excused. You are gonna be responsible. Where you saw it or who you saw do it is irrelevant.

Wow, i've just done some research and it turns out that people were being murdered before video games were invented! Absolutely facinating.
