Kimbo Slice.... a Joke?

I don't know if Kimbo fight was fixed... but I agree with the article that he has no chance surving in the UFC

...That's what Kimbo looked like in the run up to this one. He's training as hard as he can, but he has to know the truth. Fedor Emelianenko, the best heavyweight in the world, would toy with him. Every heavyweight and light heavyweight in the UFC would beat him handily. Even some middleweights, such as Anderson Silva, despite giving up 50-plus pounds, would take him. It's just a matter of MMA being a lot more than a street brawl. He's on their turf now.

Colossus has now lost seven of his last nine fights and he wasn't enough of a stiff to assure Kimbo victory. Kimbo is fun, but reality is reality.

Ahh mankind when someone makes it on top there will always be haters. Just let the man fight he is proving his worth with all his fights everybody keep underestimating him and he keeps on shutting em up he is a force to be reckoned with deal with it.

yea, I admit he was pretty good but in the middle of round 2 he wasnt executing. He needs to get better on the ground for sure.

Did you even watch his fight against Thompson? Thompson is a bad fighter, lost 7 of his last 9 fights, and yet Kimbo looked much much worse, hell, Thompson owned him, then Kimbo blew Thompson's ear up, and the ref stopped the fight for no reason...if Kimbo was a good fighter, he would have killed Thompson...like...BUTTERBEAN DID!........

Butterbean knocked him out in 43 seconds. Thompson sucks, Kimbo is useless, I'd love to see him against a real MMA fighter.

That whole show was a joke. Although the womens fight was VERY entertaining, they were way too quick to stop the fights, probably part due to the network TV factor.

Kimbo WAS indeed a joke. Even his stand up wasnt impressive. If he was so good, with all the punches he landed, his opponet should be dead. Mad props to him though. If half his ear didnt almost fall off, he would have probably won that fight.

Leave the MMA to better production crews CBS. VERY bad show, with way too much talk and BS.

All you gotta do against Kimbo is put him in submission moves...wear him out...and not let him punch you...

I agree it was a bad fight for both fighters but thompson was done man the ref stopped it at the right time. Did you see the slow mo of the last few blows? Thompson was just eating blow after blow he didn't even noe where he was at all. The ref made a good call.

Elite XC is a joke.... Kimbo Slice is someoen i have respect for, since he came from nothing.

But the guy is way outta his league in MMA. If he went to the UFC and fought real fighters he would get his ass kicked.

I respect the guy to a certain degree, but Elite XC is a joke that not many people take seriously.

Kimbo should stick to street fights imo, or go to a MMA league that has some respect and isnt a joke.

Likely, it was an awful fight. Poor showing for Elite XC, the Robbie Lawler fight got pegged a draw because of an involuntary eye poke, how useless is that? The only good fight was the woman, they showed the most skill of the night.

I don't think anyone expects Kimbo to fight against top-tier MMA'ers. He's a sideshow like Butterbean.PBSnipes

Also, yes the fight got rigged. They totally called the fight off under no real merit, other then to save XLC's mascot from losing his first fight on national tv.

What I don't understand is why everyone thinks Kimbo deserves to just go and fight a top tier fighter while everyone else has to work their way to the top. What you people don't know is he has some talent and a lot of people think he has a chance to make it big, but in order to do that you have to prove yourself. That means fighting in these crappy leagues and fighting against mediocre fighters. If he continues to win agianst these not so good fighters he will be able to work his way to up to notable figthers. Hey and don't judge him for fighting these guys hes not making them up and how can blame the guy for taking 6 figures to fight in a mediocre league, crap I would. People criticise Kimbo so much because he is famous after only 3 MMA fights. Due to the fact that he is still quite new to the sport, making him a mediocre fighter, but he is a great entertainer. He will eventually become better throughout is career. Even though he is training with Bas Rutten, he will still need sufficeient experience to go with those UFC guys. I think people are too judgemental towards him, however in 2-3 fights I think he can proabably handle UFC, depending on his training and will,thegame458

Some people even say that the fight should've been stopped in the second when Kimbo was taking all those elbows, though personally I don't think I agree with this, because by then Thompson was tired and not dealing much damage.

He barely scratched out a questionable win against James Thompson and Thompson isn't even a good fighter. Despite all of this, believe it or not, I actually like Kimbo. Some people are just natural fighters, Some people have been fighting all their lives ( You can't get more professional then that), Some people's fighting ways are better then others, The fact that he's making such a big impact so soon says alot. Jealous people are always going to have something negative to say. Time will tell
