I tend not to email or - not only tend not to email, I don't email, because of the different record requests that can happen to a president. I don't want to receive emails because, you know, there's no telling what somebody's email may - it would show up as, you know, a part of some kind of a story, and I wouldn't be able to say, `Well, I didn't read the email.' `But I sent it to your address, how can you say you didn't?' So, in other words, I'm very cautious about emailing.

Yes, a very blatant admission by Bush that he doesn't care much for an open government. Well, at least he was honest about something relevant for once.

Presidents that don't use e-mail automatically means that they don't believe in an open government?  Go back to any president before the 90's and say that.  There are other forms of communication.

Did you read his REASONS for not using e-mail? The ones that came out of his own mouth? Gosh, you "Bushees" are a funny lot.

By the way, this relates to the latest GOP scandal. Sorry, I lost track of how many there have been.

I disagree with plenty of Bush's policies, but some of the crap people say about him is just stretching whatever they can find.  So the man doesn't like to use e-mail.  He probably knows that if he did, all you people who will try their hardest to make him look bad over anything at all would have more ammunition if he did.

Here, "Mumbles," let me translate this into something your unbiased self can comprehend:

Bush: "I don't like to use e-mail because it's harder to lie about what you said or heard via e-mail. "

But its just as possible, if not more so, that he meant that people will automatically assume he read everything that anyone sent to him.

...which, if they were "important" enough to have had his e-mail address, he SHOULD HAVE READ.

Besides that, e-mails are marked as "read" or "unread." C'mon, now, you have to know that. You are posting here after all. Don't play dumb.

He doesn't like accountability. I guess he shouldn't have tried so hard to follow in Daddy's footsteps if he can't handle the job.

Hmm Clinton lied under oath by trying to challenge the meaning of the word "is", so Bush obviously isn't the first to make questionable comments. Blindly partisan, biased people are a problem in the country. You shoul have just gotten to the core point of your post and titled it "I hate Bush, who's with me?". It's obvious that's what this post equates to.

what bush should of said is "I don't use e-mail because it will become a part of public record and I don't want some of the things I authorize to become public"

as dumb as it sounds email can leave a paper trail while paper or oral communication can disappear.

Honestly, not really. But the least he can do as President is make his statements legible.

The least his advisers and PA's could do is proof read his speeches and statements. Idiots...

that statement was less than articulate...anyways, the latest amazing quote from bush hardly deserves to be that one. the one he gave today (in parts) was worse. he claimed that healing is needed for the VA Tech families and such...........

No, healing will be needed eventually. Not at this point. right now people need to mourn...or to cry or at least know if their loved ones are still alive since that's not ultimately disclosed. healing will start eventually. this is not that time. "pray for healing"....as some have said. BAH! That time will come shortly. currently, let's deal with the more readily apparent matters.

Guys I understand that the president may not come off as very smart because he is not a very good public speaker, he says things short and to the point, unlike Clinton who rambled on for hours about nonsense.  We are a country divided not a country united, Everything that one party says the other goes against no matter waht the consequences, and the consequences will be much worse in the years to come.

WHAT does Clinton have to do with...with anything? Clinton isn't preisdent anymore. Why would ANYONE be overly concerned with what CLINTON did roughly a decade ago that has no bearing on anything going on today? And you call ME blindly partisan?

And I've already said in other threads that I don't want Hillary to be president, although Bill's infidelity has nothing to do with that. Anyway, thanks for the Rush Limbaugh talking points.

Just the usual obligatory presidential "I care" speech when some huge tragedy is in the news. Not much to talk about there as far as I'm concerned. Obviously a bad event. What is there to say about it really?

Okay, so this has what exactly to do with Bush basically admitting that he doesn't use e-mail because it's harder for him to lie about without getting caught?

Oh, by the way, "Spartan," you've already proven just how brainwashed you are by the neocon talking heads. Remember this little gem from that other thread?:

We did find WMDs 500 of them, Media just never reported it because they dont want other people to hear, they want us to lose the war. They are traitors and should be tried for it.
UrbanSpartan125

I've heard the whole "liberal media" thing about a million times from people like you, which is funny since the place you get it from is surely the "right-wing propaganda media."  Anyway, yeah, we should put people on trial for NOT saying things. At least we have some idea of what your vision for the country is. Let freedom ring!
