Lazy Boyfriends Are in Luck

The iPhone has done it again. I'm going to have to replace the question "there's an app for that?" to "there isn't an app for that?" At this point, it's the things that Apple hasn't thought of already that surprise me the most.

Their latest invention is the Girlfriend Keeper app. It allows guys to enter in their girlfriend's information - number, birthday, anniversary and personal details - and will sporadically text her throughout the day.

Some example texts:

"I just drove by a brown barn and it reminded me of your eyes."

"Did you know we started dating 37 days and 8 hours ago?"

The sporatic texting thing is awful, I'd be insulted. But something that helps you remember a girlfriend's bday... maybe not so bad. Ever been forgotten about on your birthday? Yea. I'd like to avoid that happening again. But no stupid auto texting. How insincere can you get.

I'm wondering how smart these text messages will be. Then I also wonder how much a girl would analyse each of the text messages she gets.

I would not be flattered by this. I would A) Sit down and have a talk about all these damn messages or B) find out and get upset that I'm being spammed.

I'm totally going to buy a girlfriend and get an iPhone just to do that.
