Celebrities....not world leaders or heads of state.
Definition of celebrity = "a famous or well-known person." I'd say Hitler and Hussein were both famous or well-known. And I'd say that they got very little sympathy when they died, yet were very much in the public eye at the time of their deaths.

I was going off the popular usage of the word "celebrity" (as many people do) in today's culture and not the dictionary definition. The dictionary also says a "stalker" is traditionally a game hunter, but we all know how the word is used in today's culture.
The singer from Drowning Pool died? When, and how? I don't really like the band's music that much, I'm just curious. Sucks though.needled24-7
He died in 2002 from a heart condition.

I wonder why:| Its not as if she deserves much sympathy, maybe some pity but its not like she was a great person or did anything useful.
Sure, I did not give her any fake sympathy myself. But I didn't immediately joke about it, that didn't feel right.I was going off the popular usage of the word "celebrity" (as many people do) in today's culture and not the dictionary definition. Fair enough. But I have always thought of any famous person as being a celebrity, since famous people are, well, celebrities. Doesn't matter why they're famous.

Easy for you to say.
Mitch Hedberg and every other person that died of drugs overdoses or things like drunk driving. they should have known better.iamnessie
Conversely, when Heath Ledger died of an overdose, he almost immediately became canonized as a saint on the Internet. Anyone who tried to attack his drug use or make some kind of "Brokeback Mountain" reference was immediately bumrushed.

That was because according to the NYPD he died of an accidental overdose of prescriptive medicine, and also he is the joker!

No, that was one I actually cared for, and Eddie Vedder even wrote a song for him.

No, it's true. If you're going to use drugs, you need to realize they're dangerous and manage your usage properly. YOU are in control of your actions, and YOU are responsible for the consequences. No sympathy from me if you die as a result. Willfully ingesting potentially fatal material for a short-lived thrill has never struck me as a particularly bright thing to do.
I remember when the Drowning Pool frontman died, and instead of the obligatory RIPs and "that sucks, man" messages on the internet, he death began a deluge of tasteless posts because of the irony of the group's biggest hit, "Bodies". I don't think I saw one serious post about his death.Neoyamaneko
You have to admit though, it was kind of ironic how he drowned in a pool of his own vomit after having a massive heart attack. That's crazy.
This is on Drowning Pool's ex-vocalist's Wikipedia page:
"Contrary to popular belief, his body was not found in his bunk of the band's tour bus in Manassas, Virginia, it simply hit the floor."
No, I'm not kidding. Are they just trying to get a laugh out of that?

i never really feel "pitty" for someone who's led a MUCH more luxurious and opportune filled life then I most likely ever will. I very much doubt any celeberity would care if YOU died.

Layne Staley?! He was an amazing vocalist, are you kidding me?
what I love lanye stanley, I must have misunderstood the topic. I thought we were discussing who got the least sympathetic death. Not who deserves no sympathy.
[QUOTE="Apollo5000"]I imagine it would of been Jesus at the time of his death. pianist
No, I would think that his death would have garnered a great deal of sympathy. If he didn't have a great number of followers, he wouldn't have been crucified in the first place.
He still had the majority of the Roman empire against him.

What I was going to say.
Well, recently, that person from Harry Potter died. I suppose he wasnt really a celebrity, but i didnt see much sympathy. Most people just said they wished it was the guy that played Harry :lol:gamegadgeDo you mean Richard Harris? If so, he most certainly was a celebrity, and well liked at that.
[QUOTE="Apollo5000"]He still had the majority of the Roman empire against him.
Hewkii
I doubt most of Rome actually cared, since his following was one of many followings of a similar nature.
Exactly, so he wouldn't of got any sympathy...
