Leslie Nielsen dead at 84

Canadian actor and comedian Leslie Nielsen has died at age 84.

Nielsen died of pneumonia at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Regina native was admitted to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., 12 days before his death.

"It's very sad," said Doug Nielsen, nephew of the famous funnyman. "But he died peacefully, surrounded by his friends, his family and his wife."

Very sad. No matter what comedy he was in, whether it sucked or not, he was always funny. Also, sorry if old.

Anyway, it's a very sad news, he was one of my favorite comedians, sure, most people can say that he didn't have a good movie in his last years, however, very few can deny that he was always funny and while i strongly dislike the Scary Movie franchise, i loved the role they gave him.

RIP Leslie Nielsen.

I watched The Naked Gun over the weekend. Enjoyed myself emmencely. It's sad news.
He even tried his damndest to make Scary Movie funny.

Well, he made it to 84. That's not too bad.

Wow OMG!! :o Lesile Nielsen is gone. I read a story of his nephew saying he fell asleep and passed away. So thankfully he died peacefully. R.I.P. Lesile Nielson, you will never be forgotten. :cry:

Well now I sorta know who he is. But he is no different than anyone else in my book. We all human and we all end up where he is.... in the ground. But 84 aint that bad of a life.Hemmaroids

Yeah, no doubt, but as fans we are sad for his death.

RIP. His movies gave me many laughs. One of the last great slapstick comic actors.

Man, I didn't know he was that old. I can't say I love his movies...but I remember Airplane and Naked Gun being pretty funny. Plus he is from the same place I live. RIP

I saw the name of your thread, then quickly went on over to Yahoo! to check. Oddly, there was no story on Yahoo's page. So then I had some hope that it was a hoax, so I go to wikipedia and see that he actually did die, and I let out a huge "Nooooooooooooooo" out loud. This is one of the few celebrity deaths that I'm actually bummed about.
