Level 1 users with 1 post

Hello, OT. What do you guys think of level 1 users that only have 1 post under their belt? A good amount of them tend to be spammers/trolls coming to violate our dear OT. Personally, the trout slap action that is implemented in mIRC comes to mind. How about you guys? Do you tend to pick on them a little more than usual or give them less credibility? What comes to mind when you see these Level 1 users with 1 post and the default GameSpot avatar?

If they post in system wars, its a good chance that its a alternate account.

depends on the user really, I know that some of my first posts were in the system wars and 360 board and I didnt turn out to be much of a troll, I base it on there words more then there level.

Yes, but I'm just curious to see how OT feels about these new comers. I'd think they would need to build up that trust over time by posting/interacting with us a bit more before being treated like a regular. They could probably just bribe me with some beer, though. That would probably work, too. :P

Tell them welcome to gamespot and hope to be friends with them later on.

I'll only see them as a troll if they give me reason to.

It depends on the board I'd say and also depends on what they say. For instance I assume almost all of them who make their first post in OT are trolls/banned users. I mean who makes an account on a gaming site and the first thing they go to is off topic? In SW it's a different story.. it depends on what they post.

My judgement is based solely on the content of the post.

Depends entirely on the content of their post. It's pretty great when they give some kind of amazing catch-phrase-esque advice as their first post. :P

Same here. I hit the OT battlefront leveled with a full inventory of health and mana pots, along with some gold because I knew it would come in handy.
