[QUOTE="Teenaged"]Like I already stated I only have a problem with bashing someone who isnt around if those bashing him/her have given him/her the impression that they like him/her, ie they are fooling him/her. Nope I dont see how your definition is correct. If your definition stands then a large portion of the population is obsessed with many people since many people talk about people who arent present. Once again, have you never talked about someone who isnt present at the moment you are discussing? Well its a wise choice that you wont argue the definition with me since the definition you gave is off. Once again I am not interested in semantics arguments. No please.. vaguelly mentioning scientific fields that supposedly support your statements wont do. I wont do the research for you. I know no such Greek saying.LJS9502_basic
Bashing is bashing. There is no need for it. You don't like someone...you don't have to like them. But you shouldn't bash them either. No. Unless it's specific to something..ie x was assigned this.....or x was over...not spending time "bashing" them. Quite different than a friend asking if I'd see x. Or had y bought the beer or whatever.
Nonetheless, I'm not the one asking about the meaning of obsession. I've merely mentioned some interesting research into the topic if you were interested in learning. I f not...don't read it. Doesn't matter to me at all.
If all you wanted was a quick dictionary definition....the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc. 2. the idea, image, desire, feeling, etc., itself.
Which fits with what I've said if one feels the need to go to other sites to talk about someone. That would be a domination of ones thoughts if one cannot let it go when the person is not around.
As for the Greek saying....it was a joke...since I was saying see you around but I didn't know how to say it Greek. ;)
Then you dont agree with bashing in banned threads either? Or is that a special occassion?IRL yes people will talk negatively about others who arent present. That doesnt mean they are obsessed.
I wasnt asking about the meaning of obsession either. But here you are, a couple of posts ago, trying to redefine it. *shrugs* Yeah you meantioned that I could learn about obsession if I read into psychology. Well, it might be shocking to find out but most people (including me) know that psychology is the relevant scientific field so.... what the new information here?
No it doesnt fit. the people I am talking about dont go to other sites in order to talk about others. That just happens in a "by the way" fashion and it creates a lot of hilarious moments in the forum. Why "let it go" if it brings the funny?
