What do you beleive is Life After Death?

Do you beleive there is a heavon and hell, or in reincarnation, or that when it's over it's just over.
Every religeon thinks they are right, but there is so many of them! It's insane!!! Like 20 different ways to reach eternal life ETC, and if one of them is right, what does that make the 19 others? Hellbound?

Another thought I have been struggling deeply with is just the end... Nothing more. You die, and your soul, mind, everything is gone...

What you think?

I can't tell what the hell would happen to your mind. If you got shot in the head right now, would your thoughts just hault and you just die, or would your mind go on while your body is dead? I just can't think about it because it hurts my brain to figure out.

I like ghost stories and theories and life after death, but after watching something about this on TLC years ago, I do believe it's possible. It'd be nice to go to the better one...

Yes it's hard to imagine. I know it would seem physically impossible, but I can't help but not get how it would work for the state of thinking (like we are right now) stops. You're looking at things and you make thoughts right? So how would that be like if all of that in your perspective goes away? It's so hard to imagine.

your thoughts are justed stored solid matter, they are made up of energy. Energy is constant, I wonder, does those thoughts in energy form leave the body, and can those thoughts and memories still exist. The brain just runs the body, but the actual thought process and memories are energy. what happens to it when you die.

Such energy is stored within the brain and without the brain storing this information, they cannot function. If you have damage to your brain and lose your memory, where did they go if they are energy in the way that you speak of it? What remains of your body will become the nutrition of decomposers and bacteria, and will consequentially become part of new decomposers and bacteria. However these new organisms won't inherit your memories.

Well, i personally like to believe that something does await us after death. Think about it this way. We humans, are simply life. Life is something amazing if u think about it. We can think for ourselves and interact, were not just something like a rock. And i think that life is so amazing, that it is impossible for it to end, and there be nothing left as some of u said. Why would we just live and then die with nothing happening after we die? I believe in God and that God put life on this Earth. As i said, life is so amazing that it would'nt end with nothing, but God probably has someting for us after death, maybe reincarnation like some of u said. If u dont believe in God like that then think about it this way as well: Life is a beautiful thing, too beautiful for it to just end with nothing after, it wouldnt make sense. I personally like the idea of Heavan but i also think that we enter a state of thought determined by ourselves. It could be a great state of thought for most of us, and for those who are bad they may enter a negative state of thought. Iono, any theory is possible, but i do believe there is something after.

says you, but in this universe anything is possible and no one can ever say one set thing happens. WHos to say the energy storing your memories enter the air, and every so often collects together forming ghosts. Or it goes into another being, in an unborn baby, and he is born with your old memories stored, basically reincarnation

Lack of evidence. Does the baby remember these things after it's infancy? If so, where are all of our old presidents at now for example? "Anything" is not possible in the universe. The universe is fundamental. While we don't know everything of course, it behaves in a fundamental way and therefore everything conceivable isn't possible.

Second, where is this energy leaving the body? Do you have some sort of research that shows it leaving the body upon death? Where are the ghosts (so-called ghost detection is a pseudoscience.)?

whos not to say its not the 21 grams we lose at death or something. And yes everything is possible. Anyone who says other wise is simple minded and must look outside the box. everything we know is based souly off info we have collected on earth and thoeries we have madehere. However you dont know if on other planets things happen that scientist would drop there jaws and go WTF!! there is an unlimited amount of knowledge we niether know and will never know. superman could be real, ghost could be, aliens that breath in space, or dont need the fundemental elements organisms need to survive. They say theres no life on mars, who not to say its an invisible race of aliens? yes these sound ridiculous but you can neither prove or disprove these because it could be something we have yet to discover or canexplain. i keep an open mind to everything, whether or not they seem crazy, but who am i, or you or anyone to say what i say is untrue when you and everyone dont truelly know if it is or isnt.

lmfao enough said just beware of the heffalumps if you catch my drift

I do believe that there is a heaven and hell. If I go to heaven, I hope that you will be able to choose where you want to live (whether it is a ficional world or real) and who you want to be. Here is a list of places or ways I would like to live: Tamriel would be sick, the world of Harry Potter would be awsome, a UNSC soldier like MC would be awsome, and of course fighting along side with Marcus Fenix would both be exhilarating and scary as oblivion.

True and I am very happy about that. Speaking in terms if heaven and hell does not exist: when we all die out because of global warming maybe a whole new world will be created and we will be reborned as a whole new person in a different time.

Buddha checks the Book of Life for your name. If you are in the bad list, you get reincarnated...as a human. If you are on the good list, you go to Valhalla where you get to spend many glorious days getting your ass kicked by the Gods of Olympus, while Shiva and Mohammed give live commentary on godless communist television, because I had to find some stupid and contrived way to fit a couple other religions into this.

It's naive to believe in such a ridicolous thing....It makes no sense at all.

I'd rather go with there being nothing at all after death, just an absence of consciousness. I guess that would technically count as Nirvana.
