What is your preferred hue of alcoholic beverage? I tend to prefer a darker beer myself, though I definitely enjoy a light beer from time to time.

Dark beer, although Miller High Life is ok considering how cheap it is.

Dark beer, strong aroma, strong flavour, the kind that weighs heavy on the tongue, spelling FULL BODY!!!

mostly Ales....to me Ales go down so much quicker! i always enjoy the first 2 just for flavour...everyone after that...well...im trying to get buzzed and drunk!

Light beer. Dark beer just reminds me of the one to many Guinness had every Saint Patricks day.

Dark beer is good. Light beer is also good, but it tastes like water if you drink it after drinking dark beer.

Red beer. I find it really hard to find a dark and pale beer that I can like on any occasion. Rickard's Red is probably me favourite.

I don't know, I quite like Heinekein and Becks as beers (along with a lot of others). Maybe they're not light, but they're sure as hell more light than dark. Keep in mind light beer doesn't have to apply to the image of a potbellied redneck drinking Natty Light that many get when they hear the term. There are loads of good lagers and ales out there.

Hmmm, maybe I'm too quick to categorize. I LOVE red beer (drinking a Leinenlieugel's at the moment), but I've always lumped it into the dark beer category. Shows how much I know when it comes to beer I suppose .

European light beers are o.k., I'll drink them if there's no choice. Most light beers that I can think of are the mainstream American ones like Budweiser, Miller, Coor's. Those are just way too weak for my tastes.

I voted dark only because most of the beers I like are dark. But I love lighter beers equally (such as hefes and pale ales).

The process in making a red beer is quite different from a dark. Coriander is an ingredient that is prominent in most red beers, while absent in other types. Hell, I find Alexander Keith's Pale Ale disgusting... but find the Red not only tolerable, but drinkable.

Though... I can't stand sweet beers of any kind (I tried some high-alcohol Belgian beers recently, and couldn't drink any of them). For me it has to be bitter, and usually has to be red (the only other non-red beers I drink regularly are Fort Garry Dark, Fort Garry Pale and maybe a Budweiser if its around).

If I'm drinking , dark or red. If I'm chilling outside in the sun and want a refreshing brew I'll opt for a light beer.

I've gone through many phases over the years and liked them all (including brewing my own) and it all comes down to how I feel at the time these days. Somehow I have gone back to Budweiser as my default and the oddball stuff on occasion.

Are we talking about specific "light" beers or the paleness of the beer? I like Rolling Rock if that's what we're going on. I don't much care for dark beers. They taste too much like coffee to me. Thick, milky, and disgusting.

TBH I prefer wheat beers like Shock Top or Boulevard over most other beers. And then there's Pabst for the vintage awesomeness.

No... not exactly. Those are skunk beers, and aren't sweet in the slightest. I'm talking beers with a distinct sweetness, like that of soda, in addition to the hops.

Dark, reds are good too. There's probably some good pales out there, but they haven't passed these lips.

There's a local microbrewery that makes a dark lager... It's amazing. There's another one that serves amber ale which is really good as well.

Dark beer on St. Patty's day, usually drink light beer on most other occasions
