I am surprised at some of the books in there, I believe that many have, many things to teach people and its just a surprise to me that they were banned(somewhere)
I would have expected 'the god dilusion' to have been on there. Certainly over huckelberry fin. :PNinja-Kitteh
I find it funny because Jim, the reason why most people challenge it, Is the most realistic and heartfelt character in the book. I really only liked him when I read it lol.

Uncensored versions of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn have many instances of a word that is which is generally considered highly offensive. A lot of these "challenges" are to have books removed from schools and such.
Anyway, this thread subject line is misleading as the list actually says they are the most commonly challenged books, not the most commonly banned.
The craziest thing that I saw while briefly skimming the list is that How to Eat Fried Worms is on it. Maybe there are lots of slow days at PETA or something. :P
The most unsurprising one is probably The Anarchist Cookbook.
It's actually kind of funny to see how many books on that list are required reading for English / literature classes in various schools. Actually, that might be the primary reason some of the "classic" novels on the list are commonly challenged.
