The woman had her choice when she decided to have sex If the woman has a child then the man has to pay child support (so the government is telling the man to take responsibility for the child he helped create) but if a woman wants to have an abortion then the man has no input (in this case the government is saying that the woman has full control over her body, and that the man is not responsible)
I personally am not a big fan of essays over controversial topics in schoo. It is almost inevitable for a teacher to grade with heavy biasness, even if she/he doesn't even realize it.

Ok I lied, here's the real assignment: I need to write about an event that changed my mind about something so I thought up of abortion. I WAS about to make up a story about being against abortion because my parents adopted an unwanted baby and now our family is stronger because it that. I'm leaning towards writing about how I changed my mind about abortion and that I support abortion but what kind of event should I make up to say that it changed my mind about abortion?

Holy crap do I have so many reasons against it (I often try to find faults and strengths of any arguement). Even philosphical and ethical ones. Too bad I'm too lazy to type it all for you. It would have been an essay itself. :P

I would rather live horribly, than not live at all!
Let's look at it this way, say the parents have a child they dont want and have it put in a foster home. Say it has a horrible life there. It still has life, and once it reaches adult hood, many times i see kids like this end up with good jobs and a good life (Not always).
And say they commit suicide, worst case scenario. Atleast then, it was the CHILD's choice. I dont think the mother should get the right of execution and the right to determine wether i am worthy of living or not, simply because she is the incubator.

Yeah, if you're writing something which is against the teachers point of view, even if they don't do it on purpose, they'll probably mark you lower, since they'll realize all of your mistakes, and be a tough marker.

None that have logical reasoning behind it. We should develop a process to put a babies with health problems, like a crack baby, in some form of cryogenic stasis and during that time learn the full extent of the problems and anti the stuff.
