Listening to other people's private conversations

I just saw a hilarious infomercial saying that we should buy this to listen to other people's private conversations:

"Ever wonder what people are talking about across the room? With Listen Up, you can discreetly listen in. It's so powerful, you can hear even the softest whispers loud and clear."

In the infomercial, some guy wears this at a gym and hears a girl saying "He looks cute!". A woman wears it in the streets and hears "The neighbors seem nice". I can't believe they're trying to sell that crap to spy on other people.
