For my final project, we have to pick a movie and relate it to biology in a 15 minute presentation. The movie cannot be R rated, and cannot be a cartoon. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Edit: The type of biology includes evolution, ecology, and animals.

I thought of several movies in the space of 10 seconds. I'm sure you can too if you would bother to do your own homework.

There is a movie about the discovery of HIV and how all the scientists tried to stop it. I forget what it was called but i watched it in my bio class this year and it wasn't to bad.

Corn

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0330175/

It's really cheesy and kind of weird and me and one of my buddies just watched it because it was so bad. But still, it could work.

The Magic Schoolbus would solve your problems, but no cartoons. Jurassic Park, I guess.

If I were you I would definately go with Gattacca. It considers a lot of controversial issues and isn't half bad. You could do a 30 minute presentation on the morality of it alone.

This, you could easily get 15 minutes worth of material out of "Gattaca".

Well I did, but I'm seeing if anyone had any better ideas.

Edit: Also , I liked Gattaca too, but we already watched that movie in class, and she's not letting us use it.

eyes wide shut would be useful for anatomy. beyond that, you might use blade runner to tackle the same themes of gattaca from a different angle (i forget the rating though). 2001 would work too and i know its not R.

Great choice, but it isn't live action.

OP, could you take a less conventional route and use something that focuses primarily on mechanical entities that display biological traits such as Terminator?

Outbreak? It has everything: people, animals, disease, and you could relate it to evolution some how.
