Just heard today my local BB is going out of Business. Did you have one the WOFB. I am going tomorrow to check it out. I hope to get some game deals.

Yeah mine is too. Too bad they never advanced in all their years. I liked them back in the day before they became prehistoric.

What?

The blockbuster here is still open, but probably for not much longer. The parking lot for blockbuster is always empty but the Red Box kiosk at the nearby Rite Aid is always busy at night.

They've went bankrupt a while back. They are finally starting to close down here also. I guess they aren't just trying to restructure.

Same here. To me they bring meback to a simpler time in my life where I had no worries and nothing to do except play the Genesis game I rented all weekend.

Hmm, I haven't heard that the one(s) near my are closing O_____o

If they do I won't be too distressed... I don't rent games a lot, and there is a video store located nearby that has multiple floors of movies and TV series, as well another video store that is smaller that is in a more convenient place for me.

They have been trying to create some Blockbuster kiosks like the Red Box ones, but it is much too late for them to do that. Maybe 5 years ago they should have.

Mine is closing as well. Which is the worst thing to ever happen. Gone are my days of wandering around Blockbuster and picking up a few random movies that just happened to catch my eye. It was my favorite past time.

The local one here still is running strong, but we're a smaller city and only have one in the area, soooo chances are it won't be dying anytime soon.

I had two near me and one went out of business years ago and the other one went out like a year ago. Who cares though. Netflix and redbox are both way better and cheaper.

I have two in my general area. I guess the closer one I don't really care about, but the other one is near my friend's house and once a year a group of my friends walk around blockbuster for an hour, pick a couple movies and go back to her house. It's a tradition for us, and I'd hate to discontinue it.

Mine is still going but I not for long. I feel bad whenever I enter and I see the employees face change from a :( to :D while I'm browsing for movies and then see the face change back from :D to :( when I leave the deserted store without actually renting anything. It is sad, I remember the good ol' times when I had my dad drive me to the blockbuster to print those pokemon snap pictures of mine.

They closed one here, but I'm surprised it wasn't done sooner as it's within a few blocks of two other Blockbuster locations. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to scoop up any great clearance deals because they simply shuffled stock to the other stores. I hope the one near me doesn't go under any time soon, as here in Canada there are far fewer options for disc-based rentals and streaming options aren't particularly great either. Plus, from what I know Blockbuster Canada is actually profitable, but the US arm used some of the stores up here as collateral for loans... Which probably explains why that one store here is gone.

They've all closed in my area, and honestly good riddance. Blockbuster hasn't been relevant for years and they were a ripoff.
