I am nearly 100% certain that it does not exist. What do you think?

I think a long time ago when that old guy took the picture of a supposedly loch ness monster I think that was real, but since then I think it died. All other accounts I find to be bogus, because with the technology we have now they still haven't found anything.

I doubt it too. I live about 30 miles away from Loch Ness and the general belief of it has dwindled over time.

Dude that picture looks like a guy took a photo of his forearm/hand and then superimposed it on top of a picture of a lake. If it's the one Im thinking of, anyways.

That's because it IS really, really small. The guy who took the photo admitted that it was just a toy submarine with a sculpted head. Doesn't stop people from believing, though.

The Loch Ness monster is supposedly a giant, prehistoric dinosaur; how could we not find such a beast in a lake,of all things?:? We probably would have found it by now if it existed.

you guys do realize that the loch ness lake is massive and there is no way to search even a fraction of it. im not saying it is real, i doubt that it is real. but most of it has not been searched and there is always a chance that something undiscovered is living in it.

That's like saying there's always a chance of an undiscovered leprechaun. Ireland is a big place.

It's obviously an underwater elephant. He's putting his trunk out of the water to breathe.

I remember hearing about that theory before. Didn't an elephant escape from the circus or something, around the time of this photo? Makes some sense.

Well it would if the photographer hadn't already owned up to faking it with a submarine and some other materials.

But anyway, the locks have 24 hour CCTV footage now which are constantly videoing all parts of the lake. So if it is in there we will see it eventually. Does anyone think that story about it coming out of the lake and grabbing a deer from the roadside has anything to it? It was reported by those two holiday makers ages ago who couldn't quite get to their camera in time.

PS. By the way the CCTV footage has a constant link on the internet so you can watch live footage if you find the website.

I was in Scotland with my dad a while back, we were staying at these hostel/bed and breakfeast thingies (what did they call them, can't remember :S ), most of those things are simply people's own houses which they've turned into "hotels", often with just a few rooms.
Now, near Loch Ness, we stayed at this farmstead, the owners there invited everyone all the guests into the livingroom for tea (seriously, how do you spell tea in english :D ). The owners said they absolutely didn't believe in it, they were positive it was purely for the tourists, but they also though that it was a cute fairy tale, that added to the atmosphere of the place. Honestly I feel the same way. :)

Funny though, there was a museum near the lake there which consisted of various short films about the monster, basicly what they did was just tell about everything they tried to catch/spot the monster, but through the whole thing they kept this "there's really nothing there" feel, and the last film ended with basicly them saying "yeah, there's really nothing there, lol."
But it seemed to me the souvenir shop didn't really suffer under the bad presentation. :D

So I think most people there just think it's a fun tale, a cool myth, I mean, how awesome would it be to have a prehistoric monster swimming around in your lake? :D

Btw, Scotland and the area around Loch Ness especially are beautifull places, I've been to around France, been to Italy lots of times, Belgium, London also. But Scotland is definatly the most beautifull country I've seen, I suggest you go there and look for Nessie yourself! :D
