At first glance, I thought it looked like the British Isles.  The top left corner is North Ireland, below it is the Republic of Ireland, the middle is the Isle of Man, the top right corner is Scotland, and below that is England.

Last time US hosted the Summer Olympics was 1996 and the last time US hosted the Winter Olympics was 2002.

Right now I read that they are trying to get more countries involved though.  So I'm expecting perhaps another Asian country afterwards.  Or probably France or Italy. 

It will happen again in the US. Probably in the 20's.
