Haven't seen this discussed in a while.

Well since my mp3 player broke, I've been using my phone, and the longest songs on there are:

Joe Budden - Who (Part 1-3) [15:56]
Kanye West - Last Call [12:40]
Slaughterhouse - Move On (Remix) [8:09]

So what about you guys? What are your 3/5/2490 longest songs in your player?

Off the top of my head, Rush's 2112 over 20 minutes long, and Starla by the Smashing Pumpkins at 11 minutes.

The longest song in my collection is Six Degrees on Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater, which is about 42 minutes. I think the others close are Mountian Jam by The Allman Brothers Band (33 minutes), Tweezer by Phish (30 mintues), Stranger in Your Soul by Transatlantic (30 minutes) and Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin (26 mintues). I'm sure I have longer ones, but that's just off the top of my head.

Lol, I have 17,000 in my library, no way I can go threw them and give each one its own star....I only gave the songs that I listen to the most a rating, the rest I just keep as one to keep them organized from the ones that dont have an album name. Just so happens that the most popular songs in my library are under 13 minutes.....

There are some long tracks, but I think it would a stretch to call some of them "songs." Maybe Alice's Restaurant (18 min.)

Longest in my list? That would have to be:

"Atom Heart Mother: Father's Shout / Breast Milky / Mother Fore / Funky Dung / Mind Your Throats Please / Remergence"

Yes. That's the song title. And it's 23:44.

Off the top of my head I'd guess its the live improvised version of Moby Dick by Led Zeppelin.Though I have over 2000 songs so there could be another one even longer somewhere that I can't think of now...

Longest is 2:05:09, then 2:00:28, then 1:35:31--I have about 80 songs after that that are about 1:00:00 to 1:30:00 long.

1860 songs, 11:12:13:59 in total (11.5 days), 21.88Gb. Impressive? I don't know. But if I was stuck in the woods I could listen to music for two full weeks almost.

I've got like 20 dj sets that range from 45 to and hour and 45 minutes long. If you're talking actual songs, then it's Popcorn Superhet Reciever by Jonny Greenwood, coming in at 25:42. ;)

Top three (excluding a podcast, as that doesn't count and I've never been arsed to listen to it): Something in the Way - Nirvana 20:35 (I'm pretty sure most of it is silence) Theatre of Salvation - Edguy 14:11 Everything Evil [Demo Version] - Coheed & Cambria 13:38

St. Robinson and his Cadillac Dreams (Counting Crows) -- 15:40* Selections from Beauty and the Beast (U of A Mixed Chorus - my choir) -- 15:27 Medley from Titanic (U of A Mixed Chorus) -- 13:15 The War is Over (Matthew Good Band) -- 12:29* I Heard it Through the Grapevine (CCR) -- 11:06 The Return of the King (LoTR: RotK Soundtrack) -- 10:14 All the rest are under 10 minutes, so I won't mention them. * both of these songs have hidden tracks at the end, and thus have long -- ~2 minute -- gaps in the middle. Not sure if that should be counted against them or not.

A lot of classic tunes and dance remixes are above 10 minutes, Mozart's 9th is 12:51. "The Game - Why you hate The Game" is 9:22 but it doesn't feel like it.

DJ Dooby, DJ Pi, DJ Markski all have some free compilations lying around. They're free downloads so you can torrent them if you want, though I assume (at least in the case of DJ Pi) that they'd want you to just seed the original file. (That's right mods, LEGAL torrents)

Edit: I'll just add the most of those 100 (actually 110) are mostly DJ Pi, since his are the easiest to find.

There's an album I have with short clips from songs to arrange one large song. If you count that, then "Yonderdome" by DJ Sharpnel is somewhere around an hour. If not, then "The Games We Played" by Torley Wong at 17:12.

Oh sweet glorious avant-neoclassical music. I gotta pick Bodysong up already. There Will Be Blood's soundtrack has made me hungry for more. As for me, it's probably the random post-rock I have. Or this song I never knew I had, or even the name of it, which is about 1 hour long.
