Im curious to know if something like this exists. I have a friend of mine that has a terrible habit of misplacing things, usually her keys. Shes misplaced her phone several times but can usually find it by calling the phone, but that same cant be done as easily with her keys. Is there some kind of app for the iPhone combined with a hardware GPS or Bluetooth keychain sized receiver that allows the iPhone to show distance and direction (with the compass on the 3G S) to the receiver?

Unfortunately, telling her to not misplace her keys or put it in an obvious or same location each time doesn't help much.

I'm pretty sure there isn't such a device. Tell her to just keep her keys in her pocket, or buy a lanyard or something.

nope, not currently. Ive looked before. That would be a great app, though.

Well a close alternative would to buy the metal detector app! (called "Metal Detect")

You could find your keys along with other miscellanious misplaceditems
