Looking to learn Bass Any Hint?

Well the other day i got a Bass Guitar of me mate for £40 ,that he got for £150 about 10 months ago but never liked, back on track i'm looking to learn to play.

Anyone here play?

Any ways to learn like sites, books, DVDs ect...

Also atm i dont have enough cash for lessons so thats off the charts.

I know you're gonna hate me for saying this, but

practice, alot, a few hours per day if you want to get really good really fast, but 15 minutes a day will do

someone telling you what to do is really nice, to get you on your way, although learning the basics of bass is easier than learning the guitar basics

These two sites have a large database of tabs that you can learn. The bottom line is the largest string, the top line the thinnest. Tabs are the most simple and easy-to-learn way to play, so enjoy :)

Just practice, practice, practice! Even if you think you aren't being productive, playing the same thing over and over will develop strength in your fingers, you'll get quicker and everything will seem easier and easier.

Tabs are fine, however you shouldn't become dependant on them, most of them aren't completely accurate. Your ear is your best friend.

Sitting by the TV with your bass & amp and just playing along with commercials or theme songs will get you better.

Don't get bored and don't quit!
