The support of Obama from any nation isn't going to help him. It could hurt him if anything.

I'm fairly sure they don't get to vote, nor do they listen to who we'd like to see voted in.

Having said that we could use some friend making skills from whomever is in office after Bush pissed everyone off.

Citizens of other nations are mostly naive to American politics (and vice versa)... all they see is a presidential candidate that doesn't fit the norm... so they think the nation would head in a different (read: better) direction. Their opinion is essentially worthless...

Yea, pretty much. Who the hell decided pissing off every country was a good idea? Not going to their party is one thing, but going to school the next day and telling everybody (including them) how much it sucked is another.

Too bad I care about the condition of America before the rest of the world.

Too bad the rest of the world has no say in who we elect as president.

I've seen some reports that the large turnout in Germany during Obama's speech has hurt him stateside.

To bad we've spent billions of dollars on taking care of the rest of the world. Bringing "freedom" to Iraq and "defeating" the terrorists. While pretty much neglecting our own people.

Obama's trip overseas to Europe hurt him in the polls badly because it showed that Obama was caring more about what they thought than what we thought.

Even if it isn't true, it's the perception that matters.

It didn't hurt him. It just didn't boost him in the polls like he thought his Rainbow Tour would. And so the Democrats learned that holding expensive political rallies overseas does not boost popularity at home.

It seems to be arrogance or just short sited attempts to rally political support by that administration.

Teddy Roosevelt had it right. Speak SOFTLY and carry a big stick. No need to piss people off who can help us.

Why do some americans think that a President that is liked around the world is a bad thing? we've had 8 years of a president that the world has hated and did his own thing regardless of what the world and even most Americans thought. I think that's enough.

First of all during this election I can barely give a damn about what some other country thinks about an inexpireneced lying man. My deal is with the economy.... and I would not want to pay any increase in taxes (which would be the typical Obama of liberally taxing everything and ruining our US Economy even more) than what some **** socialist state thinks of our president. Our country should be first not the "oh well the rest of the world likes me" BS while our economy aint doing so well as expected.

so... what you're telling me is that you don't actually know much about the economic plans of the candidates beyond the commercials. if anyone is lying it's the McCain campaign when they show middle c1ass americans and say that Obama would raise their taxes. that's false. Obama would actually cut taxes for them more than McCain would. (it's all published you can check for yourself) the only ppl that would get a tax increase would be the top 10%. And those rates would only be going to what they were during Clinton's administration. You know when we were not selling our future away.

sorry but we've had 8 years of big tax cuts for the rich and this is where we're at. the biggest gap between Rich and Poor since the great depression. no thanks, I don't want more of the same.

I agree. in order to pay for the blunders of the current administration we will need to increase taxes for someone. though McCain's plan is actually to give the rich a bigger break than they currently get from Bush now.

PS. I liked the McCain that said it was irresponsible to cut taxes while going to war. but that was a long time ago(2003) and he's abandoned that idea.

It is amazing how it seems that the GOP doesn't remember the past and learn from their mistakes. It is either that the GOP is peddling to the lowest common denominator (Upper-Middle class business men) or they haven't learned. Giving tax cuts to the wealthy has worked all 0% of the time. Heck, it has created some of the worst economic problems in our country, and has led to the economic problems that we are having today. I'm not saying the Democrats are better here, because Obama doesn't have a great fiscal plan either. But comparing the two, and from precedents, McCain's plan is bunk. RON PAUL OR BUST.

Tax cuts encourage business. Look here in Texas. We have no state income taxes. This was created to help business and encourage other businesses to come here. Texas has a fantastic economy. One of the best in the nation, if not the best.

sigh...the Ayatollah has said that he deliberatley let the hostages go the day Reagan was elected as his last "F you" to Carter. Keep in mind that it was Reagan who pulled US troops out of Lebanon, essentially telling terrorist organizations that suicide bombings are highly effective agaisnt the west.

Is what you may think, but history serves to act as a warning for that line of thought. Every time tax cuts have been given to the upper middle class there have been dire ramifications on our economy. This is illustrated in the current problems facing major firms like Fannie May and Freedie Mack. Our economy right now is in dire straits, and economies of the past, when tax cuts were given to the wealthy, have been in dire straits as well. I don't understand why we should continue to support obviously flawed economic plans that have a LONG history of failing.

Remember what happened?The_Mac_Daddy

we traded arms for prisoners?

a president that doesn't hesitate to take military action is one i don't want in office. military action is a last resort only.

This is probably because Obama will take more taxpayer money and give it to other nations, and he will allow the UN to take more US Sovereignty.

[QUOTE="The_Mac_Daddy"]The rest of the world LOVES when the USA has a democrat in power.. why? Because they are usually soft. Other countries get brave when we have a democrat in power. When a republican is in office, they watch what they do because a republican won't hesitate to take military action. Remember the VERY DAY that Reagan was elected into office..? Remember what happened?Sajo7

sigh...the Ayatollah has said that he deliberatley let the hostages go the day Reagan was elected as his last "F you" to Carter. Keep in mind that it was Reagan who pulled US troops out of Lebanon, essentially telling terrorist organizations that suicide bombings are highly effective agaisnt the west.

Why would letting the hostages go give an F you to Carter?

Sure. But every state has their business field of expertise.

The_Mac_Daddy
quite an understatement. not every field has seen an increase in profits over the last year of 100%. most have see drops. and it's not because of the Rich not getting paid well enough.

[QUOTE="The_Mac_Daddy"]Tax cuts encourage business. Look here in Texas. We have no state income taxes. This was created to help business and encourage other businesses to come here. Texas has a fantastic economy. One of the best in the nation, if not the best.Vandalvideo

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are completely different issues to what you are talking about.

You're a fine example of this. It gave the image that Carter failed to free the hostages.
