How do you deal with the death of people or pets that are close to you?

The loss of a pet can be especially difficult because animals don't understand death, they only understand the concept of self preservation. I think in some cases the death of a pet can be more difficult to deal with especially if the animal is young or a long-time family pet. Death is never easy to deal with regardless of species or whatever, but it becomes much more commonplace as one gets older unfortunately. Some people deal with the death of a pet by just going out and buying another one, but this doesn't work with me.
If a death is lingering in your mind and you are having trouble dealing with it, you have only one real choice and that's give it time. It's easy to say and hear, but tough to do.

Depends still
I don't know any of you so its hard for me to tell. If your favorite pet dies how different would you feel if it was a rat or a dog? Favorite pet is still a favorite pet.If it was a pet I might be a little sad for a bit but I'd get over it.
This resonates with me, yes.
