[QUOTE="Apollo5000"]Well sorry to put a spanner in the works but The Looking Glass is down at the ocean floor and theres constantly a wire going from that to the island so it can't be floating or it would of snapped the cable a long time ago...CheddarLimbo
Er...I don't think it's been established that the Looking Glass is actually fixed to the floor. But then, even if it wasn't, that would mean the main island was dragging it along, and if that were the case, there would be a lot more tension on the wire and you wouldn't be able to pick it up.
I'm not ready to dismiss my theory entirely. The Looking Glass could have its own propulsion system.
there must be another group of others on the island. how else would they be able to make those whispering sounds. thats kinda weird to the maximum. and is the looking glass attached to the ocean floor? or is it floating just above it. I don't think it was attached. in any case, the only other solution I could think of, would be that the cord can extend a very long distance.:DAirio
I never said it was attached to the ocean floor, i said it was located there. And personally i kinda doubt a 4 inch thick wire would be capable of dragging a massive structure like that around the ocean. Not to mention if the cable could extend a very long distance it would have caused more problems than good.
1. It would be a trail to the island since the Electro Magnetic Anomaly surly goes with the island the Looking Glass would no longer been undetectable as its not in the shroud of the anomaly and someone will find that, then the wire and then the island.
2. Surely it would either get caught on something or get destroyed and broken in someway.
3. If it can extend then it would have when peopled pulled on it and they wouldn't have found anything, just a really long cable that goes nowhere...
Not to mention the fact it is actually attached to the bottom (though i'd save this for my plot twist)
as seen here [spoiler]
