Yea, what he said.
I don't own a mac, but one of the big pluses of owning a Mac is that they're much much MUCH less prone to viruses, spyware, etc. than a Windows PC is.thorboy03
Yup. The reason why no one bothers making viruses for Macs because there isn't really any information on it. I think Macs are more for businesses instead of gaming.

Norton detects everything as a virus or spyware...It detected Enemy Territory as adware, and never let me play it. Then, I switched to Avast...

Norton is going downhill imo.

i dont see why people think that. you just have to know what your downloading. iv had xp installed for 3 years(never formatted) and i havnt got one virus or adware) same thing with vista except got it in january

Yeah, but a large amount of computer owners are not very tech savvy at all. For example, my mother reads pretty much any email she gets it, she subsribes to useless "joke" emails and stuff like that, and her computer has been infected numerous times. The mac would be a good solution for someone like my mom.

yup, for the noobish. (no offense to your mother)
This reminds me of the time when I saw a bunch of protesters on a street corner, but as I drew closer I saw they were all holding signs saying stuff like "macs are for noobs"I laughed so hard.Bill900
well its true;)

Well you sure don't have spelling knowledge.
The only way you'll get virus' is if you are on limwire and download a blatan virus (your own fault)
You are looking at porn and you download porno.exe (again, your own fault)
Someone random sends you a random file over msn and you accept it and exec to exe (again, your own fault)
First thing I do when i turn my pc on is ctrl+alt+del, close down AVG anti virus and start CS, then when i get bored i close CS and spend the rest of the day browsing the internet and on msn... AND WOW I DON'T GET ANY VIRUS'
and "zomg no spyware" - hardly a selling point to people who know anything about computers, maybe that's a selling point for my grandparents who don't have a clue about computers.
plus with a pc you can run linux and linux is where its poppin at.ghored654321
Actually, you can install linux on a mac, and OS X is built from BSD unix.
That being said, they are too expensive, don't have enough hardware customization flexibility (at least, the laptops), and generally are for noobs. :P
I think some one is a hater cuz he(she) cant find an iPhone :(L8erSquare
the iphone is a garbage pda. first of all it uses wifi to get on the net. so you need a router neer by . with better pds(which are cheaper) you also get video support and it uses 1x or EVDO to get on the net so you get connection everywhere
I don't own a mac, but one of the big pluses of owning a Mac is that they're much much MUCH less prone to viruses, spyware, etc. than a Windows PC is.thorboy03It's not like they have some kind of super powerful virus protection. People don't make many viruses for Macs because it's not worth their time.

businesses are the kinds of things youd want to hack... :|i havnt had to do any updaets since i got os x 4 years ago and i get updates for windows every month or so.adams_73717
I run XP and OS X, and they both ask to download updates pretty regularly. If you haven't downloaded an update in four years, you should click on "System Update" under the apple menu. :D

Not quite correct - the iphone uses wifi if it's avilable; otherwise it uses EDGE for data access.
Using Windows is like headbutting the wall... My Mac is very fast, despite not having amazing specs, thanks to OS X. It's simple to use and never crashes.SolidSnake35
iv never had windows crash on me sometimes itl chug for a few seconds then go back to normal and thats when im listening to music on limewire downloading large files(3-4) and doing a lot of internet consuming tasks
Photoshop runs 5x better on a mac and with a mac you can run linux or windows or any OS for that matter. Also you lost all credibility when you said Linuz is where it's poppin at. I think you were saying Linux is good which means you know nothing about what you're rambling abouto_sausage
Agree. I'm a graphic designer, tech geek. All the adobe programs as well as Maya runs way more stable on Mac than on PC. OSX it's a lot more organized and pretty. I do have Windows for gaming and will never trade it.

It's been a while since Windows has crashed on me. The last time it happened was I think when I messed up some drivers.

Hmm. It seems as though everyone experiences crashes then, since I know some people say their Macs crash at times. It's the other way around for me, and a lot of other people though.I don't own a mac, but one of the big pluses of owning a Mac is that they're much much MUCH less prone to viruses, spyware, etc. than a Windows PC is.thorboy03
Because nobody is going to steal credit card information from something nobody self respecting would use.

that was true about 5 years ago, but now it's completely false for high end designers since PC now gets the cutting edge hardware first, and most monkeys can be taught how to do a hardware upgrade. If you want a the top end CPU in a mac you have to buy a whole new mac. Also more and more projects are requiring custom software, and sometimes even hardware which you can only do on a "PC". The only reason designers even used Macs in the first place was because it was the only OS that supported 64-bit processing which saved countless hours in rendering. Now most are migrating back to PCs which have superior hardware, and the OS is just as good (or better in some cases) until some stupid employee downloads the "freeXXXpasswords.exe" file.

You're not very convincing when arguing your point, are you? ;)Ok, let me explain it better. You make viruses and when somebody goes to your website, they get a virus. The virus seeks out personal information like credit cards, etc. Now, how will you make more money? The virus is for window users, and of the jillions of people using windows, you get half a million. You put it on mac, what, 50 people in the world use mac? you get 50 cents the most. See my point?
I use a MAC at school, for art-based work. I had a pretty closed mind when I first started using it, but now I do find them quite easy to use and dont really have any problems with it in terms of crashing or viruses or anything like that.
Although I'd never use it for gaming.

Yes, I already know that there aren't any viruses on Macs because of its small userbase. It doesn't change the fact that it's good news for us Mac users. You didn't really explain it at all before. You just insulted those who use Macs. :Pmac is were the future is kid, and if you cant see that for yourself then WOW...Iphone, Ipod, and the Imac are all huge in thier indistrys...Macs are good for things other then just gamesmgreener_34Nah....Linux is the future, free, community-based software, awesome support and help. Thats where the future is.
Iphone? didn't maddox shut you guys up yet?
ipod? an MP3 player with a $60 extra price tag?
I'm really scared
MP3 player with a $60 extra price tag?stevendiep_100Most things cost more because of the brand. That's just the way things are in this world.
