i really want to make this cake from a box, and it calls for a half cup of veggie oil, but i have none. By any chance can i use a substitute like melted butter, olive oil, or melted margarine and still make it taste good?

A substitution for one cup of vegetable oil, is one cup of applesauce, or one cup or fruit puree.

An yes I am serious.

You can go without the veggie oil but if yo want that moistness to it the melted butter should do. Don't over due it.
