Do you guys see this a lot? I feel like it's just teenagers trying to act smart and well in-informed. Nobody actually cares, and everyone is so vague when they comment to avoid the fact that they don't know anything. It's more annoying than reading a female's FaceBook status, honestly. What do you guys think?

Only friend I have who talks about politics a lot is the Area Youth Commissioner for the Eagles Rest Area in Scouting, and has had a letter he wrote read in parliament, as he frequently keeps in touch with our MP. Oh yeah, and he's only 17. I'm sure he's just trying to seem grown up though. tl;dr Don't generalize.

The vast majority of Facebook posts pertaining are uninformed, but I suppose people generally are.

Half the idiots on my Facebook profile don't have the mental capicity to discuss politics. I just see crap like "text me" or "I just had dinner, lololololololol"

Anyone on facebook who doesn't share my love for Ron Paul and the gold standard isn't worth being friends with anyway.

I agree with this. I don't like discussing politics, religion, or morality, but I've got friends who really are educated in these topics and sometimes make posts about them.

Yes, I do post political statuses on my facebook. I don't do it to come off as "smart" (anything but), but I do it to keep people informed. They can take it however they want, but at least they will have just that much more information on the gears of what's going on. My hope is to kickstart their minds into looking at the world at large, see what goes on under the table, and come up with their own conclusions. Knowledge is indeed power.

The only politics related status I've posted is "Am I the only person who thinks Newt Gingrich sounds just like Kermit The Frog?" which I wouldn't see as incredibly in-depth and thoughtful :P I'd rather people post about politics than what their nan had for breakfast or all the usual crap.

Doesn't matter. First off, I don't check Facebook as much as I did before and second, I don't mind reading political statuses. It's a person's opinion and should be able to express themselves regardless but it doesn't affect me one way or another. Now if they randombly decide to get into a debate with me or send me a bunch of stuff that's politically related then yes, I'd be very annoyed.

I wish my friends were more politically and philosophically involved. It would be refreshing to have an interesting discussion with one of my peers, but alas, they're retarded.

I've got a lot of smart friends, so their political statuses tend to be interesting and well-informed. I don't have any problems with it.

A friend of mine was just complaining about that. Glad I don't pay any attention to that stupid site. Just sheep following the flock.

i've got at least two friends of mine that are political activists so i tend to see their updates a lot. especially one who is..... very loyal to the cause of getting Wisconsin Republican governor Scott Walker kicked out of office.

I have like 20 friends on FB and I never really get on it so I don't see them that often. My mother on the other hand sees political stuff all the time and it drives her crazy.

I do, but pretty darn rarely. I have to be really ticked about something or really excited. Mostly I keep my opinion of politics on gamespot though.

yeah, that was one of those rare exceptions. I still want to see Scott get taken down, but I keep it off facebook nowadays.

One of my friends is actually very anti-Obama, but at least it's entertaining when he goes off on him.
