Crazy smart ass computer nerds. Trying to take over the World :o
I got the green light.
And "only 7,000 machines remain infected in Canada", so I dont think i'll hear of anyones Internet failing.
But still this is the first I have heard of this. Thanks for the info.
You caught me. :oHow do we know that link you posted isnt actually a link to the virus? You clever one, you!

People whose computers are still infected Monday will lose their ability to go online, and they will have to call their service providers for help deleting the malware and reconnecting to the Internet. WASHINGTON AP
What am I missing here? Why do they have to call the ISP to solve this?
It isn't. He linked us to site that is linked to in a site associated with the FBI that is linked to in the yahoonews article. I clicked on it earlier today from yahoo news. How do we know that link you posted isnt actually a link to the virus? You clever one, you!

The malware gave the hackers control of their victims internet connections, when the FBI and Estonian police found out about the plot they seized the servers run by the hackers, because of the malware hacked computers access the internet through the hackers' servers which were shut down by the FBI. The FBI replaced the hackers'servers with temporary servers before shutting down the hackers' servers in order to avoid having victims lose internet access. On Monday the FBI will take down the temporary servers which means that computers that are conneected to the internet via those servers will lose access to the internet. I'm guessing contacting the ISP will allow the ISP to connect you to one of their servers and remotely attempt to clean out the malware infection on the hacked computers.[QUOTE="WASHINGTON AP"] People whose computers are still infected Monday will lose their ability to go online, and they will have to call their service providers for help deleting the malware and reconnecting to the Internet. basically what they did is make the infected computers go through their servers i wanna say thier DNS servers instead of the ISPs. So if your infected you are literally being connected to the Internet by them and the can intercept anything from you. If the FBI were to shutdown those servers all the infected computers would suddenly stop working because they are looking for those fake servers instead of the real ones.

How do we know that the FBI isn't actually spreading the virus?! How do we know that you're not in on it, too! :o
I got the red. WHAT DO?!SolidSnake35Try to to delete the malware with your antivirus software (i.e. have the software run a scan). Otherwise wait till monday and if you can't connect to the net, call your ISP (comcast or at&t or whoever you buy internet from).
