In Newbury Park, California, authorities have arrested a man for killing a 6-year-old boy with a meat cleaver. Calvin Sharp, 38, was reportedly arguing with Sandra Ruiz, 33, in an apartment complex Sunday night. When Ruiz's 6-year-old son ran outside, Sharp chased him down in the courtyard and began striking the boy in the head multiple times with a meat cleaver. Neighbor David Crawford said that Sharp shouted "die, die" during the attack. "He said he was tired of him playing video games all the time. He said his ex-wife had cheated on him and was sleeping with all his friends," Crawford said.
Jack Thompson: "That man has seen a video game at some point in his life. It obviously turned him into a vicious killer. Let's ban the video game and arrest the developers while we let this innocent man with a tainted soul go free so he can heal himself." Terrible. Just terrible.

Because it's often seen as hypocritical to punish someone by doing the same thing that got them punished to begin with.

Why capital punishment was ever banned still boggles me.
Because its considered to many as cruel and unusual punishment, which is banned by the Constitution.
alright but in all seriousness it wouldnt be "fair punishment for him to just be sent to like life in prison for example. prison sounds bad on the surface but as soon as you basically start living there for months on end everything you do there becomes routine. it becomes your new life and once they accept that no one goes insane or anything they just continue to live once they've adapted to the prison lifestyle. and guys like this dont deserve to walk around and live their life normally thats not right.

depends. if he isn't in a solitary cell, he'll most likely get the same treatment that child molestors get... he'd probably get killed by the inmates.
i'm sorta mixed with death row and life in prison. i'm always debating with myself on which side I should be for this one.
