And how much money will he make off of this stunt? Wonder if that might be the reason he made up this crap?mmogoon
Yeah if he get enough media coverage on this he will probably begin a book and sell it for even more money.
Technically you can be legally dead and then saved (i.e. heart failure treated with a defribulator to make the heart beat).Death is death. You only die once, you can be dying any number of times but dying is not death. Currently, there is no evidenced case of anyone coming back from death.

Yes, but clinical death is not biological death. All these hallucinations and visions when people die is in the in-between period between clinical death and biological death. The actual dying.
As time goes on, we can likely push the limits of clinical death as technology and science get better. In fact some medical procedures today require 'killing people', otherwise known as placing them into a state of clinical death.
However, nobody has made an evidenced return from a biological death.

well not really, they can bring people back who's heart has stopped, but when you're brain cells are dead from lack of oxygen you cannot be brought back.

And? This does not mean they haven't resusitated people. Your brain cannot be brought back...however, doctors can resusitate someone who is braindead.

Again, clinically. No biologically dead person has been brought back to life. Someone who is clinicaly dead is only a person that is on the way to truly becoming dead. In older days they were as good as dead, currently and in the future, they are still alive and can be saved until they hit true barrier of death.
Before actual death, your body is on a 'power-down' so to speak. In this way, claims of "being dead" is misleading.
as the brain is being starved of Oxygen people halusinate...and its usually of images they associate with religion, or a bunch or memmories (life flashing before someones eyes). Like people claim demons triend to drag them into the ground after being in a car accident and some claim to have seen dead relatives.
My point, its just the brain making stuff up as its dying, and if there is an afterlife you would see it after death, not during it.

*sigh* The difference between clinical and biological is that biological is irreversible...that does not mean that someone who is clinically dead is not dead. They are.;)

Death is permanent. How would you describe the state of dying then? The state of dying is a rather long process that bridges the state of being alive and being dead. You are alive, then you're dying, then you're dead.
Nobody gets out of the state of being dead. People have routinely come back from the state of dying, which can take place even when they are fully conscious (ie. the slow shutdown of bodily functions before the brain does as opposed to after it).

You're quibbling over the fact that if acted upon quickly enough death can be stopped. The only problem is the brain. The heart can be brought back after some time....it's the lack of oxygen to the brain is tricky because of brain damage.
And Jesus comes to my window every night to tell me the wonders of Heaven:|bluezy

It's not an opinion. Its a well known fact that the brain releases a very powerful narcotic when you start to near death, which results in people seeing a tunnel of light or thinking that they're seeing heaven or hell. Put simply, people tend to take a very big acid trip before they die.
Anyway, don't you think its odd that there would be near death experiences if religion is true? I mean, wouldn't demons, angels, god, the devil, or whatever have you be able to say to themselves "hey, this guy's going to be alive again in a couple of minutes. There's no point in taking him into heaven/hell"?

The brain may release a chemical...but there is no way for science to determine what it does.

Its very possible. Or have you never heard of a little scientific field called "neuroscience"?

Dying can be temporarily stopped. We have no current ability to actually stop death, though we probably could find one given enough time. Nothing that has died has ever come back, giving death an uncontestable track record against living things.
