Manga/Visual Novel recommendations?

After the anime recommendation thread I guess I might as well post this as well.Like the Anime version thread,just plaque this thread with your favourite mangas and Visual Novels.For the sake of an "all age" enviroment,excessive gore and ecchi is forbidden.Mild-Averagelevels is O.K,however.If you really want to,Light Novels can be posted here as well.

Kidding, but most of the good ones (stuff like "Saya no Uta") aren't really all-ages..

Anyway, "Planetarian" is another one in addition to Clannad. The "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" series is also excellent. I guess "Chaos;Head" is mentionable..it had its moments, but was mediocre overall, imo. Also, there's some really good freeware ones.."True Remembrance" and "Narcissu" stand out strongly in my mind. Other than that, there's not much available in English..

Also, this is a first..I don't recall ever seeing a visual novel thread on Gamespot.

OMG A VISUAL NOVEL THREAD! There are very few VN's that are for all ages. The only one that I can think of that's for all ages is Clannad. Some VN's that I highly recommend... Wanko to Kurasou (English Patch) ~Wind A Breath of Heart (English Patch) Katawa Shoujo (Created in English by an indie developer, Act 1 is out) I have a site I know where I can find a bunch of Visual Novels that have english patches, but its NSFW. Air, Clannad, Kanon, Saya No Uta, Katawa Shoujo, and that's all I can think of.

I've never been a fan of stuff like Death Note or Bleach etc, but I read some manga now and then. Yoshihiro Tatsumi, Osamu Tezuka and Yuichi Yokoyama are some of my favourite artists.

The Clannad anime only told a fraction of the storyline (even though the seperate arcs don't really tie directly together.) Additionally, the ending in the second season only makes sense in the context of the visual novel.

Anyway, some other good visual novels:

Phantom of Inferno (Great..if you can get it to work. The "DVD-Movie" format of this one is terrible.)

Yume Miru Kusuri (Um..yeah. Skip if you can't handle sexual content..as this game has lots of it. Story is nice, though.)

Cross Channel (Translation of this just recently finished. Be warned..quite a bit of sexual content, and the protagonist is perverted, but in a funny way. Hilarious at times, extremely sad at others. A bit hard to understand at points [just because of how it's written]..but I must say it has an amazing storyline, and the ending is phenomenal. The premise is also very very cool.)

Fate/Stay Night (Pretty good, but way overrated imo [this coming from a Type-Moon fan.] The anime only depicted about 1/4th of the visual novel, for anyone who's wondering.)

I've never heard the term Visual Novel before... So I'm going to post some Graphic Novels!

The Maus books are amazing. I don't know many people who know about it but they're definitely worth looking into.
