Hey I currently Play Alot Sax in my school Marching Band.. I'm a section Leader, we played our first football game last night, It went pretty well but our drumline still can't count.. so they messed us up the first 10 measures or so.

Our Tubas sucked when I was in the marching band. I was the section leader too and pretty much the only alto saxophone person that could play the music. I also had all the pieces memorized compared to the other people that had to use their music sheets. But that was like 2-3 year ago, and I haven't touched my instrument in well over a year.

We have to have our music memorized, We are one of the best bands in city, if not near the top in the state so we are required to do alot of work, and I don't care cause it just makes us better, our drumline isn't doing to good this year though and that's pissing me off.

Heh, i played clarinet in the marching band for 2 years and was terrible. I would have gone into drumline but I switched schools as we moved and decided to just drop it instead of getting into it at the new school.

I wasn't allowed to play the clarinet in the marching band because it was considered a "Girl" instrument. I never understood their logic back then and I still don't understand it, considering they now let guys play the clarinet in the marching band. They made me switch to alto saxophone.:|

I played trumpet in marching band for 4 years (thats 4 years of band camp too. lol) I stopped playing after high school though and I regret it. I missed how fun it was to play in a band so I started playing again last month so I could try out for one of the local college big bands.
