What does everyone think is the most common marketing ploy that gamers fall for?
I nominate "limited" or "collectors" edition of games. They throw in a few (mostly) cheap trinkets and slap on an exorbitant price tag on it.

[QUOTE="ConformestClone"]Endangered Species.EverWiredeh? care to specify? If the game is presented in a lovely Koala fur wrapping, and carried in Panda fur pillow, stuffed with Bald eagle feathers, I would buy it.
Put one o' these in front of youre store and you could sell dog poop in a bag.
Collectors Editions are up there to i guess...

I think you nailed it. I also like how many of the people here did the good old reading of the topic heading without reading your short post.SpaceMoosewell i can't speak for everyone but i read the post, itz just hard thinking of another ploy video game clerks use. my bad if my somewhat relevant post was inappropriate...i just thought everyone decided to list the ploys commonly used in marketing.
Attractive and/or charasmatic women. Everyone falls for an attractive and/or charasmatic lady. For instance, those new progressive commercials with that weird lady in the gaudy red lipstick, who I do not find attractive, makes me want to change my car insurance. I honestly have no idea why either. The fact that she is so excited makes me want Progressive Insurance.
