[QUOTE="black_cat19"][QUOTE="Deihjan"] Don't you even have the faintest of ideas about a wedding?Deihjan
Nope. I don't believe in marriage. My girlfriend and I can live perfectly happy together for the rest of our lives fully committed to our relationship; faithful to each other; and aware of the absolute importance of open, understanding communication to keep things going smoothly; without any contracts or ceremonies, and without asking anyone's permission (not even God's) to make the relationship "official". It was always official and dead serious.
We just had our 5 year anniversary yesterday, and both of us are still adamant about not getting married. :)
I'm not religious at all, but I just feel that marriage is a nice way of saying to my loved one that I'm committed to them forever, as well as proving it to my family that I love my partner. And grats on the 5 years :DThat's the thing, though... I don't need to prove anything to her anymore; I already did. And why would you need a special ceremony to make the commitment "official"? If you're really serious about the relationship, then you would have been committed from the get-go, not like "Ok honey, I wasn't really sure about the whole loving you thing before, but starting today I really, really love you, tee-hee! ^_^".
And as for proof to my family, I don't need to prove anything to anyone; I know I love her and that's all that matters. It's none of anyone else's bussiness how I choose to express that love.
At least that's how I see it. Sorry if I came off too agressive. :P
And thanks! It's been the best 5 years of my life. :)
