I just don't get it.There's been movies about JFK,RFK, and even the more recent tragedies like 9/11. So why hasn't there been even ONE movie about Martin Luther King? I mean theres been documentaries made for tv, but not even a single film about the life of this wonderful man, and the tragic events that befell him.Any ideas or reasons why? It judt seems a bit strange to me...

Hmm when I was a kid they played a scifi movie at my school where a kid and his friends went into MLK house got a watch that went back in and met him. It was pretty good but I guess doesn't count.

why not? films about black activists have made money in the past, such as Malcolm X and Ali.

Don't know why there isn't a movie about a good man like that...but I'll leave you with this.

"You know I wish more of the young children today would wear their hair natural, like Dr. Martin Luther King did."

"You know Sweets I met Dr. Martin Luther King once".

Not really, because ending legal discrimination (note: legal) is a higher achievement than ending the practice of indulgences.

It'd probably end in a legal lawsuit over something silly if it was made...

nah j/k

I remember watching something on MLK, but it could have been something else. I was young at the time.

Um, there are boatloads of MLK movies out. Maybe not high budget theatrical ones, but movies nonetheless.

One of those movies was made by spike lee, the only director who makes movies about blacks then gets bashed for it.

Ali is marketable, like joradan or any other athlete. So i guess Lee is the only guy who would make a MLK movie.

why not? films about black activists have made money in the past, such as Malcolm X and Ali.

Gotta love it.

"Yes I met Dr. Martin Luther King in 1962 in Memphas Tennessee, I walking own the street mindin' my own business, just walkin on, feeling good, I'm walkin around the corner, a man walks up, hits me in my chest right, I've fallen on the ground right, and I look up and it's Dr. Martin Luther King I said...'Dr. King', he said 'Oops, I thought you was somebody else'"

Its not racism... martin muther king was a religious fundamentalist. he had radical ideas mixed in with his loving ideas. he did not like the idea of people thinking for them selfs. which is pure evil. here are some of his famous quotes... "Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has." Martin Luther. “Reason is the enemy of faith.” Martin Luther. without reason and logic, we could of NOT thought our way out of the "DARK AGES" heavily ruled by religion. it was clear that luther wanted to push us back into another dark age. which when you look around the world today... looks like where in. all these people, killing in the name of god.

The reason why I think its not made is the fact its a fundamental part in our American History studies.. Every public school child learns about the civil rights movements from the 50's - 70's. Most movies I have seen like Malcom X are about lesser known people who alot of times had a negative perception for being extremists.

Notice that there are ALOT of civil rights movements or movies that take place during those decades following a average joe family instead of Martin Luther King.

There are movies, or at least one, about MLK. I know cuz I used to watch one like every year. But you're right, there hasn't been a big budget one like Malcolm X
