I prefer Marvel because the characters seem more human. Unlike, DC comics the characters in Marvel have flaws and make mistakes that often carry a lot of weight. For instance, My facorite superhero, Spiderman, began his entire superhero career with 2 deaths. His uncle's, and his uncle's killer.
I still like both, though.

I find more DC Comics interesting compared to Marvel. I much prefer DC/Vertigo's Batman, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, SandMan, and Swamp Thing comics too Marvel Zombies or The Incredible Hulk ect:.Clampdown79Marvel Zombies was a complete mess.

See I've noticed that a lot of people who choose Marvel are usually mainstream and only really know popular characters (heck I bet a lot of the people who voted here dont even read comics). If you really compare it with the comics DC has a better collection.
I gonna say DC. Marvel has many more cooler characters than DC but DC has the two best characters in Superman and Batman.
Im not sure if this counts but DC also has the fantastic Vertigo imprint with titles like Y: The last man and Fables. Marvel has an imprint called Icon which is similar but isnt as good as Vertigo.

He doesn't realise that Gwen Stacy came BEFORE Mary Jane.
Nothing could touch DC in the 80's. Swamp Thing, Captain Atom (issues 1-50 only), Watchmen, JLA, Green Lantern, Doom Patrol, Suicide Squad, The Question, Fire Storm, Crisis. Heck, even Wonder Woman and Green Arrow was good.
What was nice was that mostly everything was self contained. Marvel back then milked the crap out of everything tying every issue with every other issue. It seemed everyting was tied in: EVERYTHING. Which is fine if its just a little bit, but it wasnt'. It was alot. It was like a bad story that never ended.
The only Marvel character that i like that DC can't hold a candle to is Thanos. I havent read many since because they are too expensive
