There you go.
It's not over yet. I'm sure someone is making an, "Ownage Pending" image.
What's he supposed to say?
"Well guys, I'm not all that confident in myself. Will you still vote for me?"
What should he say? "F' this, I'm done. Sorry for wasting everyones time."LukeAF24
i wish :P
i'm fed up with all of these politics, it goes on for way to long imo.
What's he supposed to say?
"Well guys, I'm not all that confident in myself. Will you still vote for me?"
Jaks_Secret
Yeah, I think it's pretty evident that he probably doesn't actually believe this privately. Or, at least, I hope he doesn't. :P
Also of note is the fact that the news article is quoting John Zogby and his, uh, polls. I have to give a hearty "lol" to that.
Gee, that reminds me of someone else.
"Polls don't vote; people do." - Walter Mondale

Oh man, if history repeats itself I will:lol:
Gee, that reminds me of someone else.

And that reminds me of a stupid Fox News quote to justify Obama's popularity in their own poll thing:
"Remember, the key is not who they like; it's who they're gonna vote for."

Really? Because I like Obama, but I'm voting for McCain. Why? You can see Obama's hair, but not McCain's. I know he has hair, but I just can't see it.
a week left, and alot can happen...it probably won't, but it can...i've been very interested in how the mainstream media has covered this election, and it's led me to believe even stronger about the ineptitude of the mainstream media.
Oh, well.....guess i can say bye bye to America

Thats not stupid it's true. Just because they like you doesn't mean they will vote for you. My father said George W. Bush was the guy you would like to have a beer with but you don't want him in the white house. Seriously, you most likely like a lot of people you wouldn't vote for.

Wow, I never thought of it like that!
"I guarantee you that two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race, and I believe that I'm going to win it," McCain told interim "Meet" moderator Tom Brokaw. "We're going to do well in this campaign, my friend. We're going to win it, and it's going to be tight, and we're going to be up late."
Actually reading the article FTW! He guaranteed a close race not that he was going to win.

I don't think anybody was implying that like was being used in a social manner, it was being used in a political manner. And most of the time (I can't imagine what that other "not most of the time" must be like), people vote for who they like politically and ideologically.

Read the article, the guarantee was a tight race not victory. He said he was going to win but fell short of guaranteeing it.

Oh I see, he changed the verb; "I guarantee ... and I believe..."
I stand corrected.

What should he say? "F' this, I'm done. Sorry for wasting everyones time."LukeAF24
No, but he shouldn't accuse Obama of being cocky or "measuring the drapes", when he himself "guarantees" a victory.
McCain's campaign stopped running on fumes weeks ago and it's engine is full of sludge. A comeback, is of course, possible but he doesn't deserve it.
What's he supposed to say?
"Well guys, I'm not all that confident in myself. Will you still vote for me?"
Jaks_Secret
I'm not sure how many presidential candidates who are predicted to lose by every known outlet who would flat out guarantee victory. McCain could have just said "we're very hopeful" or something like that. But to guarantee victory with the chance of falling flat on his face is just crazy talk.

What's wrong with him not giving up and keeping optimism? Most people didn't think his campaign would last long enough to make it to super tuesday, and look what happened. He's a fighter and he's not going to roll over after all this time.

John Stewart? That whole piece painted an unfair picture of fox news as I know for a FACT fox news talks all the time about the economy just as much as anybody, they just don't talk ONLY about the economy. As for the last part, did you hear the question asked? Yeah, neither did I. Kinda hard to know it's context when he cuts off part of his words like that.
Did you see that moron below on the page comparing Fox News to Hitler

I was only asking you to pay attention to the end part with the quote. And wasn't the general question, "Who are you voting for?", or was there some sort of misinterpretation?

I couldn't help it, I know what you wanted but I couldn't help commenting on all of it. I don't know what the question was, from what I saw the video started after he asked it.
Well it is arrigant for him to say that he is going to win, but it is also arrigant for people to say he is going to lose. In 2000 bush was behind by 8 points the night before the election; also, Obama's race is going to play a factor and there is nothing anyone can do about it, on CNN they had a special that was talking about it, and they said that 1/3 of democrats are subconsciously racist, and that will cause fear in the voting booth. It sounds ridiculous but they did lots of research and had lots of facts to back up their claims.http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/14951

But I'm sure it'd be fair to assume the question was "Who are you voting for?" Besides, there's really nothing to go against that notion (by which I mean, "Go to Fox News.com and find that exact same clip to prove me wrong, as you inevitably will".)
It's good to see McCain finally showing the confidence that his supporters have been displaying on the campaign trail. Obama has nothing left to ward off against a typical strong McCain close. When McCain pulls the Rezco card, this election is over. mysterylobsterHAHAHA! Oh, man. thanks for the laugh. first the wright card. then the ayers card. now the gop really thinks that the rezco card will stick? with less than 2 weeks to go? they will only hurt themselves.

Pretty much. I don't see it as that arrogant, there's not much pretentiousness or arrogance to derive unless you're looking for it. *babbles on and on*
