Yes limp handshakes are so annoying, show some of that confidence. Not too firm though, you don't want to twist their arm off.

I usually just extend a few fingers as they are hanging and let the person grab onto them and waggle them around a bit.

Not really. Just a slight squeeze in a handshake is enough.

I usually try to give a firm one. Nothing is worse than a weak handshake. It just rubs people off in a bad way.

Not really, Im 14 and just starting to look like a young adult, so i just starting getting handshakes. I find I'm not sure when to let go, and Im never sure how firm to be. A lot of times too, adults give me wimpy handshakes because i'm young. That drives me crazy. But, I try to give firm handshakes, and I'm working on my handshake. I just never know when to let go.

I have hardly ever had to shake someones hand and when i do, all thats playing through my head is "Firm shake , firm shake" and then the person completely takes me by surprise and their shake is way more forceful than mine and i am completely overshadowed

Reasonably so, yes. I can't stand shaking hands with people where you're basically just grabbing their hand and moving it up and down without any effort on their part.

Yes I do although it annoys be quite a bit when either somebody has an incredibly limp handshake or tries to put too much muscle into their handshake and then holds it too long as if it's going to hurt me.

Yes, I do from what I've been told. The problem is that my hands are kind of small so even though it's a firm handshake, it just feels kind of strange trying to clasp hands.

Yeah, I have a firm handshake. I don't try to break fingers or anything but I let them know I'm engaged with them. I hate when peoples handshakes feel like a limp fish.

Apparently, last time I shook someones hand properly they winced. Then again, it was a girl and she shook my hand to be funny (she was wondering why the guys always shook each others hands).

Yeah, I do and it's annoying when you shake someone's hand and they're as limp as a fish.

I guess I do. I wouldn't really know unless an expert on handshaking told me so.

I guess it's relatively firm..light squeeze, little shake, eye contact, smile. Rinse, repeat until done.

I hate people who have an overly firm handshake though. Just makes me think they're a ridiculous fool who is compensating for inadequacies in the trouser department with their big "look at me, look at how strong I am" handshake. Probably unfair, but I still think it. It actually annoys me more than a weedy handshake.

I know what you mean. You get that a lot in Eastern Europe. I felt like everyone was just trying to show me that stepping out of line would result in instant death. Still, it's not as bad as the dead fish handshake my local vicar presented me with, I mean what are you supposed to do with a floppy hand? It's just gross.

According to "Bad Religion" the handshake is nothing but a subtle fu.. you. There's no harmony, just class and race...

Oooh, I wanna listen to that album now...
