Damnit i wish Kurt Russel was young again to do his role as Snake.. Escape from LA was absolutely awful... Even with the Bruce Campbell cameo.

i just think douglas has the best track record for such a role, he's a veteren. he has the right look and voice too.starstriker32

Such a role? He has never played as a military type action hero to my knowledge, nor has he ever been physically imposing, and he is old..

Yep, unfortunately though video game movies are still in the dog house.. They arn't going to get the kind of push behind them that Comic books have been... What will happen is we will see a complicated (and I would say ambigious storyline) grounded into poop to form a simple story.. Either that or it will be so disconnected that no one will get what the hell is going on half the time... If I had a choice I would choose Zack Snyder to do it... He really proved to me with Watchmen how he can have a complicated storyline and characters in a movie pan out amazingly well.. That and we all know that he can do action seeing as he did 300... Though I think Sucker Punch looks like a shameless cash in to video games with just a bunch of explosions and other such things..

Clint Eastwood for Old Snake. Granted though even if they do make a Metal Gear movie and it turns out decent enough, by the time they get around to number four Clint will probably be gone from this earth and once again get to live with the Father and the Holy Ghost.

As for a younger snake in 1-2 (possibly 3) I choose David Hayter :P Or that dude who played Snake in Metal Gear Philanthropy.

all you need to do is watch black rain or ghost in the darkness and youll see what im talking about in relation to douglas. as for director i think danny boyle would be a good fitstarstriker32

Unless David Hayter is Snake, it's never going to work. I hate how in films, the iconic voices cease to exist.

I felt the same way about Hitman - David Bateson should definitely have been 47.

Christian Bale is the only one I see capable of doing it, not only in appearance and physique.. But having played hardbitten characters in the past.. The only other choice I could see would be Kurt Russel, though unfortuantely he is really too old now.. Afterall Kojima's Snake is based directly of of Russel's character in Escape from New York.sSubZerOo

Kate Blanchet looks EXACTLY like the Boss, even the voice is very identical.

And then Daniel Day Lewis as Liquid Ocolet. Obviously he would never enter a movie based on a game, but if there is someone perfect for the role of Ocelot, then this guy is. Just imagine an epic battle between Bale and Lewis at top of a Metal Gear. But cause Lewis wouldnt acept a role where he isnt the main character, i would say Hugo Weaving. Great actor and he would do a nice Ocelot.
