Metallica: Some Kind of Monster

Although the album its based on is mediocre, this documentary is up there with the greatest ever made imo. What do you guys think?

Pretty good documentary. The song is also sweet.

I loathe the album and every other Metallica album that was released after ...AJFA too, but I loved this documentary. It was interesting to see how the song writing process went.

Didn't Kirk complain about the band's choice to have therapy (or whatever it was), saying that they were "supposed to be a rock n roll band"? Therapy isn't within the spirit of rock n roll at all. Then again, neither was the napster controversy... or the latter half of their albums...

...And Justice For All was the peak of Metallica's greatness.

I'd go further than that.I'd say Ride The Lightning was their peak of greatness.Not even Master of Puppets beats RTL.

I give them credit for going through with that video.. But my god, its tough to see Metallica go from the old days to THAT.

I have it on DVD and seen it many times. Very interesting stuff. I imagine only Metallica fans would care. The Dave Mustaine interview was worth it alone.:lol:

but none of their albums can beat Kill 'Em All. That is by far their best album

I thought it made them seem like whiners and complainers. HillyBilly
