The Rock (1996) was good, I consider it a good movie but WTF HAPPENED after that. As technology gets better, his movies seem to get worse. Armegeddon was so so, but then came Pearl Harbor, probably one of the worst movies of all time. Then "The Island", which I heard terrible things about and then Transformers, which was undeniably terrible. Then he had to remake Friday the 13th, The Birds, Nightmare on Elm Street and pretend to be a great director. Then comes Transformers 2, so bad, I still can't watch the hold thing. This is where less technology and CGI = better for michael bay, so he can stop butchering the movie industrytrancestationThe Rock...Armageddon...The Island THE REST FAIL!!!
I think that the Transformers movies are good, people are just expecting too much from them. It's a Michael Bay movie, it's going to have twice as much special effects than a story.
Actually, the idea and premise behind The Island was pretty good. The whole begining was great at setting up the film, then they
ESCAPED
and that's where the whole movie turned into forgettable, generic futuristic meh.
then u haven't seen the 6th day Hey man, I loved both the 6th day and The Island equally. They're both very philosophically interesting.I thought The Island was awesome. :?
I though the first Transformers was alright. Transformers 2 was pretty awful though. karristonThey were kind of the same = / . Not really. The first one actually had some likable qualities to it. With T2 it seems like he decided to pump up everything about that movie instead of just focusing on what worked, resulting in a complete mess of a film.
Transformers 2 is one of the worst movies I have seen in my entire life. It took a gargantuan effort to watch to the end.

The premise is good because it is pretty much a huge rip off of much better sci-fi like Brave New World and the work of Phillip K. Dick.
(had to remove the spoiler...glitchspot....)
You can't blame him for making the movies suck. I mean, he was the creative drive behind the whole thing for the most part as the director, but think about all the people that work on a film. It's possible an executive producer wanted the movie to be more hollywood or something, which means more special effects. I'm talking about Transormers here btw.nicknees93
Michael Bay is a powerful man and a man who pretty much does what he wants. Yes, we can blame him for the lackluster quality of his work.
Would you say that it was better or worse then Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (which I recently suffered through again).Transformers 2 is one of the worst movies I have seen in my entire life. It took a gargantuan effort to watch to the end.

I thought The Island was a badass movie. But anyway, yeah I guess so. I havent seen half of those movies, so I cant say for sure.

lol I've purposely stayed away from that one until I can watch with a trained suicide counsellor in case they need to talk me down at the end of it.

Somehow I don't think so... What movies do you like?
I like all the movies of his i've seen. If you hate him so much why do you continue to sit down and watch them? Just ignore them completely then leave the people who actually do like his movies alone, everybody has different tastes and yours doesn't apply to everyone.
P.S I loved both transformers
Movies were better when they didn't need special FX, could you imagine clockwork orange with all sorts of visual aids? It would kill the movie!
The BIrds remake... facepalm.jpg The Island was a fun movie, I didn't care for Transformers.MrPraline
wtf when did he remake The Birds?
thats one of my all-time favorite Alfred Hitchcock movies
Granted, he's not Spielberg, but there are a lot worse filmmakers out there. The Michael Bay hate here is ridiculous.
