It does seem that news has slowed down about him though.

A few weeks ago...the day after the memorial service me and my mom went to Barnes and Noble to buy some magazines with him in it and we spent around 50 bucks. We are going to go back tommorrow to see if they have anything new.

It really seemed to reach a head when you hear his music being played on country music radio stations. I mean, they didn't play his music when he was alive, but yet they wanna play it now? And commercials saying if you want to really commemorate his legacy, then buy these vintage paintings from 1993, that you know they painted 3 weeks ago.

I know. It's annoying. Many people die worldwide every day yet we only mourn the famous ones who die. It's quite sad. I know that Michael Jackson's contributions to the pop genre of music were tremendous and he left behind many fans but the media needs to stop talking about him now. There are other things for the media to babble about.

Thriller is THE best-selling music album of all time by a wide margin. His music and dancing had a universal appeal and nearly everyone loved seeing him perform. He had just as much of an impact on the music industry as Elvis. People aren't going to forget him overnight.

It doesn't really feel like four weeks. :? But anyways, I'm sick of seeing all this Michael Jackson this and Michael Jackson that crap. It seemed as if when he was alive, no one liked him and as soon as he dies, everyone loves him.

This happens with all the major news stories. It happened with Princess Diana, with 9/11, among other things. People are stupid enough to watch the TV and buy the newspapers that go on about it. Kill those people, and you kill the story.

..shoving him down our throats. I mean it is sad that a person died but come on. We know he's dead but let's try to get over it. "Who is this singer? Answer and get a laptop" :|

DragonRebel0908
Whats worse is how the media kept portraying him as some sick, old pedophile when he was alive.. after he is dead he's some sort of God. Its amazing how they can turn around like that.. anything for the ratings.

It's already been 4 weeks? In that case it has been way too long to cover his death. What more is there to find out?

... Because what the media usually covers is so intense and meaningful.

The usual celebrity gossip, Jon & Kate, Obama's birth certificate ... as far as I'm concerned, they can talk about Michael Jackson for as long as they want. If it's not that, it'll just be something else pointless and unimportant that just as many people will watch anyhow.

It's better than what's usually on commercial news. At least he was an important person, in music, or overall, unlike most of today's celebrities.

he's a household name across the world, and he died suddenly, not 30 years from now when he turns 80. That's probably the only reason.
